When Ava woke up the next morning, it was to a pounding headache. She moaned and pushed back the cover heading into the bathroom. Colin was standing at the sink brushing his teeth and she simply glanced at him.
“Good morning,” he said after spitting into the sink.
“Morning.”
Ava started on her morning routine and Colin watched her. The fight they had last night had been escalated to one of their biggest so far and Colin knew that Ava would be different after this fight. He could only hope that she’d forgiven him the same way that he always forgave her.
“Did you want me to make you breakfast?”
“If that’s ok with Simone,” she replied coolly before stepping into the shower closing the glass door behind her.
Colin rolled his eyes, he didn’t have time to play this game with Ava today. He’d just let her ass starve.

“I can assure you Mr. Kaepernick that I will have you in top shape for this upcoming season and I keep things one hundred percent professional.”
Colin looked over at Harper and nodded his head. He had finally made the decision to let Simone go.
“So you won’t make any passes at me?”
“No sir, I come from a home that was broken up by another woman and I wouldn’t want to put any one else’s family through the pain that I experienced.”
“You’re hired, but I do have one request.”
“What’s that?”
“I want you to meet my wife so we can all get to know one another.”
“I understand, when would you like to have this meeting?”
“As soon as possible.”
Harper nodded her head and shook his extended hand.
“I’m looking forward to working with you Mr. Kaepernick.”
“Likewise,” he smiled.

Simone watched as Ava walked outside of the house. She knew that Ava was behind the reason that Colin had fired her and she would get that bitch back if it was the last thing she did. Once Ava had pulled out of the driveway, Simone started to the front door. She took a hair pin out of her hair and picked the lock, smiling to herself when it clicked open. Eventually her criminal ways would come in handy. She went to the kitchen and replaced Ava’s cooking oil with peanut oil. She had been around Ava and Colin to pick up on Ava’s allergies and biggest fear. Once she had poured the contents into the bottle she headed upstairs and walked around the house. She couldn’t lie, Ava’s taste was off the charts! Getting back to the task at hand she headed to Ava’s home office and smiled to herself patting the bag that hung loosely on her shoulder. The snake’s head popped out and Simone laid the bag down allowing it to roam the room before coiling itself up in the corner. The front door opened up and Simone cursed at herself for getting off track. She heard Ava’s voice through the thin walls and quickly hid behind the door as it opened. With Ava’s back turned to her she closed the door and locked it from the inside. Ava would learn to not to mess with her.

Ava placed her bag on the floor and sat down on her desk. She looked at the corner of the room and narrowed her eyes so she could see it better.
