Colin woke up to Carson on his chest and Ava snuggled into his side. He shook his head chuckling. Carson had definitely picked up on Ava’s crazy sleeping habits. When he lifted Carson up he felt the grip on his neck tighten.
“Where are you going daddy?”
“I’m just going to the bathroom, I’ll be right back.”
Carson loosened his grip and let Colin go. Once he had handled his business he went to the kitchen and looked for something to eat. Nothing in Ava’s refrigerator was going to satisfy him and he headed to the shower. Dressing himself in fresh clothes, he went to shake Carson awake.
“I just wanna sleep daddy.”
Carson turned on his side and rested his head on Ava’s chest.
“You don’t wanna go get breakfast with me?”
“Give me five minutes, and I’ll get up.”
Colin shook his head. Carson was a carbon copy of Ava when it came to personality.
“Come on buddy let‘s go get pancakes.”
“Can I get the chocolate chip ones?”
“If you hurry up.”
Carson groaned and slid out of the bed and went to his room to pick out an outfit before going back to Colin so he could help shower.
“Are we going to bring mama something back?”
“She doesn’t Ihop.”
“Mama is crazy Ihop is amazing,” Carson proclaimed.
Colin laughed as he pulled into the parking lot of Ihop and unbuckled his seatbelt. Carson jumped out of the car and ran around the front of the car to grab Colin’s hand. When the two were seated, Colin’s phone rung and when he saw who was calling he let it go to voicemail.
“Who was that daddy?”
“Nobody important.”
Carson drunk his orange juice and looked at the menu.
“I thought you already knew what you wanted?”
“A man can never be to sure of themselves daddy?”
“Ok, how old are you little boy?”
“I’m one.”
Colin rolled his eyes playfully and looked at his son.
“Do you wanna come train with me today.”
“O yea, but what about mama.”
“Let’s just have a father son day and we’ll include mommy later ok.”
Carson shook his head and smiled as the food arrived.
“Can you cut my pancakes please.”
“Give me your plate.”
As Carson and Colin started eating, he thought back to the phone call that he hadn’t answered. He knew that he would have to deal with Mariah again, but right now wasn’t the time.

Ava was fresh out of the shower and was blow drying her hair when her phone started ringing.
“Hello.”
“Hey baby, I have Carson, can you come by the training facility, I have someone I want you to meet.”
“Yea, I’ll stop by.”
“Alright I’ll see you then.”
She hung up the phone and finished blow drying her hair. Going to the closet she decided to wear a romper she had designed and paired up the outfit with a pair of gladiator sandals. Giving herself the once over in the mirror she grabbed her Katie Spade purse and walked out of her front door.
