Ava sat across from her aunt with a tight lip. The doctor had ran some tests on Heather and told them that she could possibly survive if she had a bone marrow transplant. Ava had wanted to be her mother's donor but found out that she wasn't a match. So after weeks of debating on if she should come she her aunt or not, she told herself that this was for her mother.

"So my sister is dying?"

Ava closed her eyes.

"Not if you help her she won't."

"What could I do to help her?"

Ava wasn't to sure but she thought she saw a flash of hurt flash in her aunt's eyes.

"She could survive if she has a bone marrow transplant and I wasn't match time is running out please help."

Hanna looked at her niece and smiled.

"I'll help, as long as I'm a match."

Ava smiled at her aunt and got up to hug her, not caring that she wasn't supposed to or the fact that she had done her only niece wrong a couple of years earlier.

Ava brushed her mothers hair back.

"Ava."

"Yes mama."

"Can you get me some water?"

Ava stood up to pour her mother a cup of water and put the cup to her lips. Once she'd had enough she nodded her head and Ava sat the cup on the nightstand beside of her. It had been a month since Ava had went and talked to her aunt and everything was ready to go.

"Did you know your wedding anniversary is coming up Ava?"

Her eyes grew wide. Between opening up her new store and her mother getting sick it'd completely slipped her mind.

"I forgot."

"Well it's next week, July 15 right?"

Ava laughed at her mother with tears in her eyes.

"Yes mama that's when Colin and I got married."

Heather coughed and Ava jumped up ready to help her mother if she needed anything. Helen walked into the room.

"Ava go home, I can take care of her now."

"But grandm-"

"Ava you have a husband and son at home, I can take care of her now."

Ava knew not to argue with her grandmother and kissed her mother on the forehead before hugging her grandmother goodbye.

When Ava got home, Colin had already cooked dinner and was helping Carson set the table.

"How is she?"

"She's good, I'm just ready for her surgery."

"It'll be here soon, let's eat."

Ava sat down after she greeted their son and kissed her husband's lips.

"Can you fix me a hot bubble bath after this and give me a massage too?"

"Of course baby."

Colin knew how stressed Ava was with everything and wanted to help her anyway that he could. Her mother's surgery was set to take place in two days and Colin knew how much this meant to his wife knowing that her mother wasn't leaving her just yet.

"The surgery was a success for Mrs. Barker, but there was a little difficulty with Ms. Monroe."

"What kind of difficulty," Helen and Ava asked together.

"She had some internal bleeding and her blood pressure went up, but we were able to get everything under control, although it may be touch and go for a while she should be able to pull through just fine."

"Should," Ava asked.

"Mrs. Kaepernick we are doing all that we can do."

"Well no shit, that's what you're paid to do and-"

Colin covered her mouth before she could cuss the doctor out. He bent his head so that his lip was at her ear.

"This doctor help save your mother's life and our son is sitting right here."

Ava moved Colin's hands away from her mouth.

"First of all am I supposed to give him a prize, and second I don't know where your hands have been."

"O you know exactly where my hands have been," he smirked at her.

Ava blushed. He couldn't deny how cute she looked in his sweatshirt and her leggings with a pair of her Uggs on and her hair tied up into a messy bun.

"We will let you know when both are ready for visitors."

Everybody nodded and went back to sitting down. Colin sat in a chair and Ava sat in his lap getting cozy before Carson climbed into her lap falling asleep. They'd been at the hospital since five that morning and wanted at least a ten minute nap.

Ava had thanked her aunt again before rushing off down the hall to her mother.

"How do you feel?"

"Weak."

"It'll get better mama."

"Duh child."

Ava giggled before sitting beside her mother.

"I'm happy that you'll still be here with me."

"I wasn't going anywhere."

"Yup, so now you're stuck with me for a little while longer."

Heather cracked a smile.

"I wouldn't want it any other way baby girl."
