Sleeping is so hard when you can't stop thinking.

Throughout the night, I hoped to fall asleep before falling apart, but I couldn't. The constant thought about my so-called parents and Roxanne had me full. The most unbearable thing was that Roxanne was avoiding me the whole time.

There are two sides to every story and then there are my screenshots.

The light singing of the birds was heard and I could see a small shine through the closed curtains. Suddenly, the door opened full-swing and I shot upright, sitting on the bed. The sudden movement of women in uniform got my attention. One of them opened the curtain bringing the bright light, another disappeared into the bathroom and the third one stood at the foot of the bed.

I whispered, "What is happening?"

A more pristine figure entered the room and announced, "My dear, you are a Princess. You need to be treated as one."

The Queen turned around and ordered, "Girls, start to work."

As soon as she finished her sentence, a ginger woman started to walk towards me and pulled me to the bathroom, where the bathtub was full of water and roses petals. I was still astonished by the candles all around when the maid turned around and told me to hurry with my bath. She left right after.

After my bath, I wrapped a towel around me and realised that I didn't have any other clothes. A knock came through it and told me that they had something. I opened and saw this beautiful blue dress, which I used. I came out of the room and looked to see the bed was already made and empty.

Quickly, I was dragged to sit on the bench that was tucked over the dressing table with a big mirror facing me. In no time, the ginger-haired maid started to do my hair without any words of approval, and another came and started doing my nails.

While struggling with these changes, Queen Argent walked in with two maids, who had large trays of food. The Queen sat comfortably on the bed while looking at me, while the maids pampered me.

So many words to say and no ways to say them.

I knew for a fact that they were my parents because I had felt the connection, with or without Roxanne's confirmation. There was this sacred bond that no one could break. However, things weren't easy... They had explained briefly that they abandoned me because of the chaos with vampires, but there were so many other questions.

Queen Argent broke the silence by saying, "My daughter is so beautiful. I am so happy that you are back, my dear."

Nothing haunts us like the things we don't say.

The sudden change of meeting and knowing my biological parents made me confused and out of place. There was this constant debate of what I had to do, but when my mother looked at me with her loving eyes made rethink. She looked happy and lost as her eyes looked distant but her smile falling a bit.

I asked, "Are you thinking of your past?"

She looked at me, speechless, but she regained her composer rapidly. She looked at the maids working but also curious about our conversation.

Queen Argent ordered the maids, "Go, your services are done. You can go and clean the rooms."

After all of them left the lavish room, she said softly to me, "Come here, Amelia."

I stood up and started walking in her direction, where the maids had set the food on the table. I sat down on the nearby chair as she did the same.

Her innocent smile returning as she said, "I know you have questions. You can ask me, and I will try my best to answer them."

I nodded and asked, "Tell me everything from start, what really happened?"
