Drawn to darkness.
Cold wind and wet grass greeted me as my bare feet touched the ground, feeling familiar. Looking up, I saw my surrounding, just to find myself into a different dimension.
Eyes shifting left and right, and this immense force pushing me to walk forwards. Without knowing, my legs moved and pushed me ahead, however, my mind shouted – get out!
I finally stopped when I saw a familiar barrier that divided the territories. My curiosity increased and I continued walking till I reached in the middle of darkness and light.
Suddenly, a bright light shore and I closed my eyes instantly. When I felt safe, I re-opened my eyes to find two individuals standing in different territories with a smile.
A quiet conscience makes one so serene.
A woman in black dress said, "Hello, my dear Amelia."
I asked, bewildered, "Moon Goddesses?"
The bright smile from Light Goddess etched on her face as she continued, "It is good to see you again, my child."
The beautiful twins remained in their spots as I took their breath-taking appearance. But still today, the Moon Goddesses stood on their separate domains.
The Dark Goddess resumed, "The last time we encountered you were between life and death..."
Light Goddess finished, "... and you choose to take the darker path."
I ignored their remarks and I continued, confused, "I thought that I wouldn't see you again."
Dark Goddess said, "You were not supposed, however, we made an exception for you, my dear."
I asked, intrigued, "Why is that?"
Disregarding my question, Light Goddess enquired with a sincere smile, "How are you, my child?"
In one word, I described, "Alive."
Light Goddess pursued, "I supposed you don't regret your decision, my child?"
Her question wasn't out of anger, but happiness.
I simply said to her, "I don't."
Dark Goddess smirked, "How could she, sister? I equipped her with resources that you would have never been able to provide her."
Light Goddess nodded, thoughtfully, "You speak the truth."
Intrigued, I dared, "What do you mean?"
Dark Goddess smiled wickedly, "Do really want to know the latter?"
Confused, I continued, "I don't understand..."
Dark Goddess said, "How could you know? We are the only ones that know what would happen if you had chosen my sister's side. Amelia, my child, do you wish to know?"
Light Goddess insisted, "It is not necessary, sister. She has chosen you for a reason. I don't see a need for her to know."
Dark Goddess giggled and said, "Why do you wish to hide from her? She deserves to know, don't you think?"
Light Goddess whispered, "But---"
I interrupted their conversation and demanded, "I want to know, please."
Genuinely, I haven't thought of the other option, ever.
I am happy in the darkness, it has given me many gifts including Garza. I could not wish for more, but... Now that I think of "what-if", I wonder if I did the right decision.
