Wearing a mask...

A week has gone by since my conversation with King Argent in the garden.

During this week, I have been playing as their daughter and learning all the necessary etiquettes that a Princess should carry. The Queen was there at every step, never leaving me alone for a second. I tried to find more about my mysterious brother or any other family member, but they would always avoid it.

There was a part of me that wanted to stop looking for answers but life didn't work like that. I couldn't stop, I need to keep looking. Feeling suffocated constantly because I feel a part of me still missing.

Around me, the staff acted differently, it felt like they were more afraid than ever. They are always calling Princess, always meeting my demands, I truly felt like royalty... But I was the legend. So, I tried to look for Tracy and Roger, because I wanted answers from them, but they disappeared and when I asked the maids, they would run away.

Why is everyone running away? Out of fear or because they don't know?

But my worries didn't end there, no. There was Garza, the man who kissed me. The man that avoided talking about it. As I entered a room, looked at him or walked to his direction, he changed directions.

I don't understand him, and he can't explain to me.

Sitting beside the large window, I see the blue night sky with a hidden moon. Yet, the stars sparkle freely without missing the moon right next to them. Since I came here, I had restless nights but nothing like today. It was 3 am and I couldn't help to feel something approaching.

Answers feel precious when you have many questions...

"It is past your bedtime, Princess."

Alerted, my eyes drifted to the woman in a black cloak. I stood up, ready with my claws and ready to fight if necessary. Instantly, the woman's orbs look at my claws and waited to challenge her.

I asked instead, "Who are you and what do you want?"

She crossed her arms and smirked at my reaction.

She remarked, "Your royal parents wouldn't be happy if you don't act like a Princess. You will be considered as weak Argent if you don't follow their steps."

That caught my attention as she used the exact words that King Argent despised, weak Argent. There wasn't much that I found out, but someone from my family was one. I tried to find out more about it, but I couldn't...

Maybe she can give me the answers that I am looking for...

My claws disappeared, and I asked softly this time, "Who are you?"

She quickly tells me, "No time to discuss, you must follow me."

I frowned and continued, "I am not going anywhere."

The woman in the cloak huffed loudly out of frustration and I took that chance to see her aura, which showed no ill intentions.

The woman finally said, "You have questions. I have heard you asking the maids about the secrets that this castle holds, and you found nothing because everyone is scared of the King and Queen."

I asked interested, "And you aren't?"

The woman continued, "No. If you want to know more, then you must come with me."

Roxanne added, "Follow her. She might be our only option. We might find our answers. And if this a trap, then we can end her."

I whispered to Roxanne, "You are right."
