We have been walking towards a path for 15 minutes and so far, I couldn't see anything that even resemblance a community.

As we were walking in silence, I felt my wolf in the back of my mind and I called out, "Roxanne."

She told me with attitude, "What?"

I said, "Why do you think this is the right decision?"

She whispered, "There's a reason that I am doing this."

I asked curiously, "Which is?"

I felt her shaking her head, "Not yet, Amelia. I need to make sure."

I asked again, "Of what?"

But before Roxanne said anything else, the witch yelled, "Did you hear me?"

I looked to the witch with a confused look and she added, "Were you talking to your wolf again?"

I asked, "What makes you so sure?"

She looked ahead and said simply, "You zoned out."

I whispered, "Oh..."

After few heartbeats, she continued, "I was asking about your name."

I said, "Amelia. Yours?"

She looked at me for a brief second before she turned around again, "My name is Winter."

I nodded my head and continued, "Nice to meet you."

She asked after a while, "How old are you?"

I answered sincerely, "I just turned 18 today. What about you?"

She took a quick glance again, but I didn't miss the worry on her face.

She continued with a calm voice, "I am 19. A year older than you."

We walked further for seven minutes when she finally stopped. I looked around to find an open field.

I turned towards her and asked, "I thought that you were going to help me."

She nodded her head and said, "I am, but not everything is what it seems. Tell me are you afraid of dying?"

I didn't understand why would she ask me that, but I said, "I am not afraid of dying. Pieces of me die all the time."

She nodded once again and whispered, "Wait here." She walked few steps forwards and put her hands up and shouted, "Ostende te."

Suddenly, the arc around the perimeter started to fade and I could several houses everywhere where children were running and yelling. The adults around were practising their magic and by the smell, they were all witches.

I was about to step into a community with several creatures that recognised my kind as enemies. Perfect.

I asked Roxanne one last time, "Are you sure?"

She answered me quickly, "Yes, I am sure. It is Dark Goddess's will."

Winter, the witch, turned around and announced, "We use a concealment spell to hide from the world. The energy you may be feeling is dark magic, that is what we practise."

Roxanne remarked inside of my mind, "I can feel it, Amelia. It is clear as day... We are pure dark due Dark Goddess' energy, that's why I was attracted to follow her. I feel like we are meant to be here."

I agreed with Roxanne because I felt the same, "I do too, Roxanne."

Winter started to walk towards the small village and I wasn't far behind. All the witches started to look at me with disgust and loathing. Not that I could blame, I am sure that my kind has done some horrible things, and vice-versa.
