I woke up this morning felling better then yesterday. I smiled as the sun rays beamed against my skin, making me feel warm. I look to my side, and Hayden's not there. I yawn and get off my bed.

As my feet touched the wooden floor, I kinda jumped at how cold it was. I quickly get ready and walk downstairs.

As I hit the last step, I see Hayden in the kitchen. "Morning Hay." I said stretching my arms. "Morning Anns." He said with a smile on his face. "You don't seem tired." I said with a suspicious tone. "Well, that's because I'm a morning person! And I made you pancakes!" He said putting a plate in front of me.

"Awww! You didn't have to you know. You've already done so much." I said looking in his eyes in awe. "But I did! And I made some for Hayley." He said. I smiled and started eating the pancakes. "But, I think this deserves a kiss?" He said tapping his cheek.

I walk over to him and pinch his cheek like a grandma. "Not so slick Summerall." I said. He made a fake pouty face. I just laughed and finished my breakfast.

Soon, Hayley came down. "Mmmmm I smell breakfast!" She said waking over to us. "I made pancakes!" Hayden said giving Hayley a plate of pancakes. "Yay! Thanks!" She said taking them from him.

Hayden had to go, but I'll see him later tonight for the party anyways. Hayley was drawing, so I decided to call up my mom.

Annie- hey mom
Mom- oh hey Annie dear. are you doing well?
Annie- yeah I'm fine. How about you?
Mom- very well thank you
Annie- when are you guys going to be home?
Mom- Caleb and I are driving home right now. Your dad is going to stay there for one more night.
Annie- what's 'there'
Mom- just another city.
Annie- oh okay. Bye! Love you!
Mom- bye Annie banannie! Love you too!

I hung up and put my phone down. I joined Hayley in drawing since I had nothing better todo. But while I was drawing, I couldn't help but think about last night. Who was at the door? Why were they asking about me? And my last name is NOT Peterson anymore. And I'll never ever have that last name again. Ever.

Hayley and I heard the garage door open. We both looked at each other, and then the door. In came mom and Caleb. "Hey girls!" My mom said. Hayley and I ran up to mom and hugged her. Caleb and I are on good terms again so I greeted him too.

"So mom, what was the emergency about?" I asked. "Oh, my sister was feeling ill." My mom said putting her purse on the kitchen counter. For some reason, I didn't believe her.

My mom knew that I was going to a party tonight. But, Caleb was coming too. I was going with Jayden and Kenzie and coming home with Caleb. We promised each other not to get drunk.

It was 5:00 pm and I was getting ready for the party. I decided on a short white dress and jean jacket. I put on some flats and curled my hair. I put on light makeup and walked downstairs. "You look so nice!" My mom complimented me. "Yeah, wait till guys we you." Caleb mumbled under his breathe. I playfully punched his shoulder.

Caleb had already left with Carson. Soon enough, Jayden knocked on the front door. "Hey Annie! Looking good girlie." She winked. I smiled and said bye to my mom.

I sat in the back and Kenzie was driving. "Ready for this rooftop party?!" Kenzie said excitedly. Jayden and I responded excitedly. This is going to be one heck of a night.

We arrived at the hotel that the party was being hosted at. We hopped out of the car and took the stairs up. As we reached the top, I could her loud, ear bursting music. The smell of alcohol lurked to me and people dancing.

Kenzie immediately left when she saw Johnny. Jayden and I walked to the more calm area. We sat down on chairs, over looking the city lights. "Enjoying the party so far?" Jayden said trying to shout over the music. "We haven't even done anything yet!" "Well, let's go then!" Jayden said pulling me up.

I just followed her. We walked over to some people playing pool. I spotted Hayden playing pool with some guys. "There's Hayden!" I said to Jayden. "And Conner!" She exclaimed. "But Annie, I don't think we should go over there." Jayden said. "Why?" I asked confused. "Ummmm, the people that their playing pool with, don't look like such good people." Jayden said looking over there.

I looked back. I guess Jayden was right. But I really wanted to say hi. I guess that can wait. "Come on, let's go dance!" Jayden said taking my hand. I nodded and we went to the dance floor.

After dancing for a bit, we went to the bar. "Um two cokes please." Jayden said to the bartender. He nodded. "Now having fun?" Jayden asked me. I smiled and nodded.

The bartender came back with our drinks. As Jayden and I were drinking and talking, I felt arms warp around me. My immediate reaction was to push the person off me, but Jayden was smiling. So I look behind me and see Hayden. "Hey girls." Hayden said resting his chin on my shoulder.

"Hey Hayden." Jayden and I replied in sync. But I was feeling butterflies. Jayden smirked and walked away. "So, did you win that pool game?" I asked. He removed his arms from me and turned me around. "Yep!" He smiled. "Wait, how did you know I was playing pool?" He asked. "I saw you, duh." "Then why didn't you come say hi?" "Jayden wanted to dance." I replied

He nodded and we talked some more. I don't understand one thing. What are we?

Hayden and I walked over the edge of the roof. I rested my arms on the railing. We just looked at the street below us. We just stood there in silence, admiring the view. "Do you ever wonder, a different life?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" Hayden asked looking at me. "Like, how your life would be different if you hadn't meet one person." I said. He stayed silent for a while. "Yeah." He responded.

"Hayden, I have to tell you something. I've been keeping a secret." I said looking down. I think it's time. Time to tell him I was a foster child. And my past family life.
