I'm not going

cause I've been waiting for a miracle

And I'm not leaving

I won't let you

Let you give up on a miracle

When it might save you

We've learned to run from

Anything uncomfortable

We've tied our pain below and no one ever has to know

That inside we're broken

I try to patch things up again

To calm my tears and kill these fears

But have I told you, have I?

Chapter 2

--Elspeth--

"Wake up, wake up, you turd." I commanded while proceeding to hit Clay's face with my rubber spatula.

Come on Elle, put a little back into it.

He wasn't moving one bit which meant that I was obviously doing something wrong. I hit his back side with a bit more force and smiled when he let out a tortured groan.

Ah, that's what I was looking for.

Clay and I needed to have a conversation about that phone call since I spared the felon his interrogation the other night. Yet today was a completely different story, at least I found him on the couch instead of the felon laying under my cotton covers. I sighed, what happened to the guy I used to know? It's only been about a month or so since I had last seen him yet a lot has changed between then and now.

As I headed to his his backside once more a smile tugged on the corners of Clay's mouth and before I knew it, his hands were around my waist, tugging me down to his awaiting body. I squealed as I fell into him, the feel of his body heat bringing the temperature to a steady rise.

"W-what are you doing?" I stuttered, my legs half sliding off the couch yet he didn't seem to care as he tucked me under his body and settled his arms by the sides of my head and gave me an unwavering look of lust.

"You know I like it rough Arden, so hitting me with a spatula doesn't really make me want to get off this couch," his husky voice purred. I flinched as he leaned down to my neck and planted a small kiss on my delicate skin.

Oh God.

My face flamed as his body pressed against mine and for a split second every thought in my mind became a jumble of words and warnings. That was until I heard a knock on the door. My body instantly reacted by pushing Clay to the side, his whole body falling to the floor which gave me room to break free of his hold.

He grumbled as he laid upon the ground, his bedhead clumping upon his sweaty forehead, "I swear the next time you do that Arden I will not let you get away with it."

I rolled my eyes at him and then walked over to the door, wondering who could've been at the door since neither my nor Riki's parents were thinking about stopping by unless it was another one of our close friends.

And as I walked over to the door, I took time to steady my beating heart and bring my appearance together.

"Are you going to open that door? My head is killing me enough, I don't need your visitor making things all the more worse." Clay scoffed.
