I said ooh girl
Shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl
You turn me on with your electric feel
I said ooh girl
Shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl
Turn me on with your electric feel
All along the eastern shore
Put your circuits in the sea
This is what the world is for
Making electricity
You can feel it in your mind
Oh you can do it all the time
Plug it in and change the world
You are my electric girlChapter 3
--Elspeth--
I hummed the words to Green Day's song 21 Guns as I eyed the various cereals sitting on the shelves before me. Although I was annoyed beyond belief by the fact that Riki made me go grocery shopping for cereal, I was still willing to help my best friend get the man of her dreams.
Sigh.
When will my generosity ever be appreciated?
"I appreciate you Elspeth, and even more so since you've grown over the summer." I heard from my side.
I nearly jumped out of my skin when I turned to see Micky Jenson standing next to me. The last time I saw him, he was trying to put his hand down my shirt while stumbling in his drunken stupor. So being in his presence as of right now, didn't add to my already 'spectacular' day.
"Are you reading minds too or was I talking out loud?" I asked while narrowing my eyes at the felon suspiciously.
His eyebrows scrunched together in confusion before he let out a stunning smile, "I am not a mind reader but you're still as crazy as you've always been."
"And your still as rude as you've always been. Good to know you haven't changed." I said while flashing him the same dazzling smile he just shot me. I looked back at the cereal, fed up with the conversation. Micky Jenson was never the sort of guy that a girl like me could have a pleasant conversation with.
With his dark hair and green eyes and that classic model body he possessed with the looks to match, he was a lady killer just like Clay. Yet he looked as if he had taken a shower within the last twenty four hours which is something I couldn't say for Clay.
"So um I've heard that you and my boy Clay were an 'item' for a while." Micky cautiously brought up.
I turned to look at him with a bit of hostility. Clay and I were hardly ever an item, we went out on one date and then well... nothing happened after that. "We were never an item." I explained.
Micky's eyebrows rose in surprise, "Oh really? Well that's not what I heard from Clay or maybe he just had such a big crush on little Elspeth Arden." Micky laughed, "And it's a shame he'll be running into that crush while in Wal-mart, what a romantic place."
"Wha? Sometimes you make no sense Micky." I said shaking my head while reaching for a random box of cereal then turning away from both Micky and our conversation only to be faced with Clay and a small blond making their way down the cereal aisle, a bottle of wine clutched between his fingers.
Yet my eyes were also drawn to the short blond girl he was walking with, they were both laughing with one another, looking about as obnoxious as one could be.
"You know green is not your color Elspeth." Micky snickered.
I looked back at Micky, my eyes narrowed with the utmost distaste towards the guy, "Shut up." I retorted.
Micky shrugged, "There's nothing to be jealous about anyway since Trixi, the blond girl, is in love with me." He ruffled his hair a bit and glanced at the sky as if he was an angel sent.
