For some odd reason, Luna didn't notice how her bag was lighter due to one book going missing. It was the last thing on her mind now that she and Peter had reconnected after their few days apart, now giving her the chance to make her advances. So while she, Liz, and Mia plotted together, Peter was carefully dissecting each word written in the book.

When Luna told Spider-Man her friends wrote down every significant interaction, she wasn't kidding. There were pages and pages, dating from as early as October, when Luna only revealed her feelings in November, at least according to the book. It was a lot for the boy to take in in one night, and eventually he put the book down, suddenly regretting his decision to steal it in the first place.

There was a lot more than just the name of Luna's crush in the book. He could tell from the way it was written that it was Liz who was writing the lengthy paragraphs, full of much more details than he expected. Little things like the way they brushed hands, or the emotions that could be depicted just from the way Luna was smiling. What made it more daunting was how he was depicted in the passages.

He was shocked to see it was his name always written beside Luna's, but what surprised him more was how easy he'd been to read. Of the three, he was closest to Luna, so how were Mia and Liz able to pinpoint the exact moment he began developing a crush on the girl? It was frightening in a way, to know these two girls he rarely spoke to had figured him out just by the way he looked. In their words, it was described as "the way a puppy looks at their owner" and that he "admired her as if she was the only one who was in the room." The worst part was how right they were.

Because Peter Parker did have that admiring look in his eyes when his gaze was settled on Luna. He did look at her like she was the only one in the room, because sometimes it did feel that way. He wasn't widely popular, he didn't have many friends, but he was okay with that. And speaking to Luna, somebody who wasn't those things, made him feel much more special than he thought it would. There was a part of him that hated how suddenly he developed feelings for the girl, but as he read more and more of the book, that part slowly began to dwindle.

Because Luna Giraldo felt the same way. She'd wear that same adoring look in her eyes as she leaned her head against her hand, and listened to Peter as he spoke, paying attention to little details. Like how he moved his hands in dramatic ways, or he'd stutter over some of his words, or when speaking quickly, his voice would eventually crack. Luna was utterly infatuated with the boy. Or at least, that's how Mia and Liz depicted it.

So when Peter walked beside Luna to his home–the library was closed, and Luna's house wasn't an option–he was feeling giddy. He was unsure as to why, it's not like he had the confidence to finally pull a move over the girl, but a part of him hoped that she did.
