Chapter Six
The four men stared down at the battlefield where Serenity and the Sound Four had just fought; more like where Serenity revealed her true power and nonchalantly defeated the Sound shinobi without breaking a sweat. Itachi continued to twirl the kunai that Serenity had launched at him earlier between his fingertips, her warmth still radiating from the weapon’s handle. His grip on the kunai tightened before he slipped the weapon into his pouch for safe keeping. Itachi closed his eyes, leaning against the tree for a means of support. "That was an incredible battle, hmmm," the blonde whispered, the smirk leaving his face and being replaced by a serious expression, "she didn't even show fear while she fought against them and she was outnumbered four to one. Whatever dwells inside of her holds incredible power. No wonder the Akatsuki has been pursuing her for weeks now."
"I didn't expect such a pretty face like her to be so calm in this kind of situation," Kisame added, "I honestly thought she would have difficulty defeating all four of those pitiful brats, but she was able to keep her own. Whatever power she holds also has a keen grasp on her; she was easily susceptible to being controlled by that power, and that can become a problem if it decides to lash out whenever we attempt to overpower her.”
The blonde nodded in agreement, and what Kisame added made complete sense. Serenity’s power could easily overpower them if it deemed them a threat to her safety. Itachi’s gaze lingered over the destroyed training grounds as he remained silent, listening to his teammates comments about the situation at hand. "I can see that Itachi is in deep thought about what just happened," the puppet master said with a new smirk appearing on his face.
Itachi opened his closed eyes to reveal his blood-red Sharingan to the other three men. “I’m just having a moment of nostalgia,” Itachi gazed down at the training grounds below, taking in the damage that the young girl had been able to do all on her own. Itachi remembered it very clearly, almost as if it had unfolded the day before. The last time he had been to the training grounds, his younger brother Sasuke had also been with him. The other three men couldn't see it because of Itachi's emotionless expression over his features, but a bit of anger was running through his veins at the sight of his younger brother walking beside Serenity. Itachi surprised the other three men by speaking out for the second time that night. "I have some business to take care of," Itachi informed the others, "stay here and don't follow me."
"Where are you going Itachi-sama?" Kisame asked, curiosity written all over his face. Itachi didn't answer as usual. Instead, he stood on the branch overlooking the training grounds. Without another word to the other three men, Itachi started jumping from branch to branch, leaving his teammates behind in utter silence.

I walked into my apartment, deciding to take a warm shower after the series of events that had unraveled tonight. I went into my bathroom and turned the shower on; making sure the water was warm. While I waited for the water to reach the right temperature, I undressed, throwing my dirty and torn clothes onto the cold floor. My gaze lingered over the blood that stained my clothes, not believing that it belonged to me. My gaze lowered down to my naked abdomen, my fingertips slowly grazing over the healed flesh that had spilt blood just a mere hour ago. ‘What power had overcome me? What’s going on?’ Those thoughts echoed throughout my mind as I stepped into the shower, enjoying the heat from the water as it glided over my skin. I washed the dry blood off my body and made sure that there wasn't any blood in my hair as well. I didn't notice that tears were gliding down the length of my face because they were mixing with the shower water. The blood dripped off my body and I just stood in the water, allowing my muscles to relax as the blood began staining the sides of the tub.
