Chapter Eleven
I stared in horror as Naruto and Sasuke used their best techniques on each other. At first, Sasuke seemed hesitant about using some of his advanced techniques since he didn't want to use all of his chakra on Naruto at once. Sasuke seemed to be at an advantage since Naruto wasn't able to hit him and all the blows that Sasuke sent at Naruto made contact. The rain was beginning to come down harder and my eyes began to swell with tears at the sight of the two friends fighting. You wouldn't believe how bad I wanted to interfere and stop all the fighting, but this was their battle, not mine. Instead of stopping them from causing any more injury to themselves, I stayed behind the bushes, watching the battle progress. Naruto attacked Sasuke with punches and kicks, but Sasuke was able to block every single one of them. From where I hid, I could see the smirk that was forming on Sasuke's face. It looked like he thought this was going to be any easy win. How wrong he was...
As if the determination inside Naruto increased, he began to fight back with a stronger force. Sasuke seemed surprised and shocked at the same time. I was right about Naruto when I saw the determination flaring in his eyes. He wasn't joking when he said that he was going to keep Sasuke in Konoha and I started to believe that he could succeed in bringing his best friend back home. In front of my eyes, Naruto fought back, blocking most of Sasuke's attacks and punching him with most of his strength. Soon enough, Sasuke was lying on his back, floating on the water’s surface with blood pouring from his nose. Naruto was in the air, falling quickly towards Sasuke's limp body. Sasuke, trying to stop Naruto in time, quickly performed 'Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu'. A large fireball ball spiraled straight at Naruto, but he skillfully dodged it and landed on top of Sasuke, forcing him into the depths of the lake. I couldn't see what was happening under the water, but there had to be a struggle because neither one came up for air for some time.
I was getting worried that they both killed each other under the water since they didn't come back up. The worry in my body left me when Naruto and Sasuke both soared out of the water, higher into the sky. Before Sasuke could react to the relief of air, Naruto grabbed him by the ankles and slammed him into the cliff. A large cloud of dust formed around the area where Sasuke made contact with the cliff. Naruto was standing on the water, breathing heavily from all the work that he had to put into this fight. He was staring at the spot where Sasuke had to be lying on. During the time that it took for the cloud dust to truly disappear, Naruto was regaining his strength. But he wasn't the only one that was recovering. Sasuke was clearly visible through the rubble of rocks. He was getting up slowly and blood seemed to be dripping from the corners of his mouth.
Naruto hid the shock that he felt well, not expecting Sasuke to be able to move after that kind of attack. Naruto got over his shock quickly and began to charge at Sasuke. What wasn't expected from anyone was that Sasuke grabbed Naruto by the throat, lifting him several inches above the water. Sasuke's right hand strangely began to light up and fear entered my eyes. "I can't believe he's actually going to use Chidori on Naruto," I whispered to myself as I tried to get up from my sitting position.
Panic began to enter my body when I wasn't able to move an inch. I had to stop Sasuke from killing Naruto, but my body went into shock. My eyes widened as I saw Sasuke pull back his right hand and slammed it right into Naruto's chest. My breath was caught in my throat, new tears rolling down my face. Naruto's body went limp in Sasuke's grasp and without any respect, Sasuke dropped his friend. Before Naruto could even crash into the water, a strange red chakra caught him. It seemed that the Nine-Tailed Fox inside of Naruto was also determined to keep him alive. The powerful, red chakra began to heal Naruto in place, right before Sasuke's wide eyes. Naruto's eyes flashed opened, showing anger and rage inside of them. With speed and no hesitation, Naruto sent a powerful blow to Sasuke's face. Sasuke was sent backwards, crashing into the water along the way.
