Lawerent

I never knew a meeting can be this boring and frustrating at the same time. I sat here listening to the group of share holders as they decide the fate of the company ,my fate.
It really annoyed me watching them decide if I should still be president or even still be in the company.
I had messed up badly, I knew the but this was my company! I built it, I made it what it is today. They can't just get rid of me easily..or can they?.
He sighed. Everything he had was put into this business, he can't loose it.
But he would

'I'm sorry Mr lawerent but you will have to step down from your position as president. ' a board member spoke up.

'and also you would have to leave the company, of course you would be highly compensated, but we believe it's for the best. The company has suffered great losses already. '

Lawerent sat there looking down, he knew this was coming, but he had hoped.. Well what ever he was hoping wasn't going to happen. He nodded his head slowly and signed the papers before leaving the office. His colleagues had a pitiful look on their faces, but he knew they were happy.
He could see through them, those greedy people. He slammed the door shut and took one last look at the building before exiting the premises.
This was all Dora's fault, okay maybe loosing his company was not her fault, but he had no one else to blame. This was stupid!, he hated her so much. He had come to NSukka with high hopes but all was lost now. The only pressing issue was finding Dora and when he did, she would be so sorry.

All he needed to do was find her, where could she possibly go to ? He had tried calling the university she had studied in but was shocked to find out she was no longer in school, Dora was not the type to miss school or even drop out of school. He knew something was wrong somewhere.

Dora stayed indoors for the next few days, she was scared lawerent was see her if she stepped out of the house, Jaden was getting more worried about her behavior, he knew she was scared ,truth be told he was scared too, he hated seeing her this way. Lawerent shouldn't even think about coming closer to his wife and child because it would be the last thing he did in his life.
He would do anything to keep her safe, even if it meant risking his life for her.

She was been careful, her concern was on chimamanda, she had grown to know Jaden as her father and introducing lawerent again was not in her agenda. If it were up to her, he would never get to set his eyes on her. She was better off without a heartless father like him. Definitely a time would come when he would get to meet her but she hoped it wasn't soon. Her emotions were scattered all over, she hated lawerent for bringing fear back into her life.

Maureen knew there was something going on, her dad had become too overprotective of Dora. She had never seen Dora so scared and pale before, yes pregnancy could make people pale but this had to be different, she knew there was more to just 'the tiredness due to pregnancy' talk she was getting.
No one was saying anything to her, she would have to find out herself.

Dora was sure to hide her uneasiness from Chimamanda but Maureen wasn't the type to ignore little things like that. She was sure to keep her problems away when talking to chimamanda, the last thing she wanted was for the child to see her depressed and from the look of things she was doing that lately.

If anything happens as a result of lawerent coming here, she wouldn't forgive him. She would surely make him pay.

It's been four weeks since lawerent lost his company and every other thing he owned. He felt useless, like things couldn't get any worse he still hadn't found Dora or any link to her and Dave has been calling him to know what's going on.
His life had become a shamble, he couldn't even go back to Lagos, he had nothing left to return to. The little he had he had decided to stay here in nsukka and see what life held for him.
His only companion was alcohol, funny how he had quickly returned to his old self, he loved this lawerent, it suited him.
