Calum: We never stood a chance out there, shooting love in real-time
So we'll take it over ice tonight with a little salt, and a little lime.
He sits at the local, tossing back beers. But they won't do. Not strong enough. He signals for the bartender. "Tequila shots, please." She walks away to make the drink as his friend sits next to him. "We never stood a chance, you know? Like why did we even try?" He slurs, grabbing a shot set in front of him. "C'mon Cal. What are you doing?" "taking it over ice, and a little lime." He flashes a sad smile before tipping back the glass, relishing the burn on his throat.
Ashton: I wish you could see your face right now, cause you're grinning like a fool
and we're sitting on your kitchen floor, on a tuesday afternoon.
She gazed at the boy sitting next to her on the floor of his kitchen. He was grinning so big that she was sure his cheeks must hurt. He passes her the joint, laughing at nothing. "We really skipped school on a tuesday to get high in your kitchen?" She can't seem to control her laughter as she inhales the smoke. "Would you rather be in class?" The truth was she wants to be anywhere he is. She can't seem to find the right words to tell him how she feels. Especially not now in their current state. This place, this high with him is always better than reality. Everything is always just a daydream away.
Luke: You're just a daydream away I wouldn't know what to say if I had you
And I'll keep you a daydream away just watch from a safe place, so I'll never
have to lose.
He watches her from his seat in the back of the class. Only half her face is visible from his angle, but that's enough for him. He imagines walking up and talking to her. She'd laugh and touch his arm, flip her hair over her shoulder flirtatiously. The sun would be shining perfectly throught the window, casting a glow over them. He'd finally ask her out, and she would whole heartedly say yes. But that's just a daydream. She wouldn't even give him the time of day. So he'd have to keep his distance, playing it safe. He didn't want to lose her, even though her already was.
Michael: It doesn't matter when we get back, to doing what we do
cause right now could last forever, just as long as I'm with you.
His everyday daydream came true. She was riding in the passenger side of his crappy old car. At that moment nothing else mattered. He could have cared less when they would get back. She rolls the window down, letting the music playing float out and dissipate into the summer breeze. Her hand waves through the air, attempting to catch it. He watches her intently for a second, before turning his eyes back to the road. They were together, the moment could have lasted forever.
