"Um hey Ash? Can we talk for a sec?" Your best friend Luke pulls you aside at school.
"What's up?" You ask when you are a distance away from your friends. Luke was acting weird. Staring at his shoes, scuffing up the ground. Running his hands through his spikey hair. "Luke, is everything ok?"
"it's fine I just, I - I think I love you." His voice became muffeled at the end but you still heard him. You weren't sure what to do with this information, but you were pretty sure that you didn't feel the same.
"Luke, we have been friends forever. You're probably just confused. We do everything together and I'm always there for you. That's probably what you love, not me." You argued.
"No, Ashley. You don't get it. If you don't feel the same that's fine, I get it. But then you should just let me go because I'm in love with you." Luke finished his monologue and stared into your brown eyes, hopeful. You were shocked to say the least, but you had nothing more to say, so you walked away. Leaving a sad looking Luke behind. Back with your friends you asked, "Guys Luke just told me he loves me. Did you guys know?"
"That kid has been in love with you since forever. We're just happy he finally told you."
A week passed, and were still thinking about that day. Luke was in love with you? The more you thought about it the more it became clear to you. You missed talking to him like crazy. He has been the one constant in your life, especially when things go rough. He could make you laugh, smile, he made you crazy but you loved him. It was as simple as that. Grabbing your keys you quickly leave your house. Ten minutes later you are pulling into Luke's driveway and tenativley knocking on his door. A visibly upset Luke answers the door. "Ashley? What are you doing here?"
"I'm in love with you. I don't know why I didn't see it before, I think I always have but it took you telling me and me walking away to see that-" you didn't get to finish your sentence because Luke was cupping your face with his large hands and kissing you passionatly. "Wow." You both said at the same time. "I'm sorry."
"It's ok. It's perfect now. I love you." And that sentence warmed your heart.
