"So your not going to be able to make it?" You asked your boyfriend Calum over the phone. He was on tour somewhere in the world. They moved around so much you couldn't keep track.
"No, I am so sorry Hales."
"It's fine. I'll talk to you later." With that you hang up the phone. Tomorrow was your big swim meet, and all you wanted was for him to be there. You'd always made an effort to be at all of his shows you could. The least he could do was be there for you. You brushed it off and crawled into bed to get a good night sleep.
Waking up bright and early the next morning you try and stay focused and get ready. Grabbing your swim back you head to the pool. People are already there moving about in the clutter. In the locker room you put on your suit and cap, making sure all your hair is tucked underneath. You watch as the first few races go, and cheer on your team mates. A few before yours you see someone holding a sign that says 'just keep swimming.' you laugh at the finding nemo reference until the move it from in front of their face, revealing Calum. You rush over to him and crush him in a hug. "Oh my god you're here!"
"Of course. I wouldn't miss your big meet. I just wanted to surprise you!" He flashes you a cheeky grin. He presses his lips against yours. "For good luck." Smiling back at him you hear your race being called. Getting in position by the pool you wait for the signal. You swim perfectly, beating everyone and your own personal time. The best part is Calum was there to congratulate you.
