Chapter Eleven: Everlark

I wake up unusually happy but of course I would, I've got an amazing boyfriend.... after reading Peeta's text over and over again, last night I feel asleep with a massive smile on my face and I didn't have a nightmare like I expected but I did have a dream about Peeta.... all he did was tell me everything was alright and we cuddled on my couch, sharing a few kisses every now and again. I walk downstairs after getting dressed with a spring in my step, I feel that this has been that happiest day in the past two years and I actually started forgetting what that felt like, it's a feeling I don't ever want to go away

"Someone seems a little happy this morning" my mom chuckles sitting at the table with a bowl of her favourite fruit

"Not a little. A lot" I sigh going into the kitchen and getting a bowl of captain crunch cereal

"So it's really offical?" Prim asks as I sit next to her at the table

"Yep, we're going on our first date this Friday" I smile at her

"I'm glad your happy, princess" my dad happily says with a smile, what makes this thing easier is that my dad already approves of Peeta which will make our relationship a lot more easier with our parents approving of us.

"Katniss!" I hear a certain squeal as I open my locker and just as I turn Madge is in my face making me jump rom where I'm standing

"Madge.... you scared the shit out of me" I breathe out

"Well?! Tell me everything!" She says excitedly

"Did Peeta not explain it all?" I ask

"I told him not to tell me, I wanted to hear it from you" she replies

"Well, I told him and he didn't run, I mean he was surprised at first but then he hugged me for a while, I kissed him, he kissed back, he won the deal and it pretty much blossomed from there" I explain shutting my locker

"That's so adorable!" She giggles, it's not long till I see Peeta walking up to me, we pull each other into a hug

"I'm guessing you told her?" He chuckles as he looks at Madge practically bouncing on her heals

"Yeah, she's taking it pretty well I think" I reply with a smile, Peeta then takes my hand and we walk to homeroom, I'm not what you call an affectionate person out in public I mean don't get me wrong hugging and holding hands is fine but kissing and all that touchy feely out in public just isn't my thing, I'm more of a privet showing person rather than public.

Throughout the entire day the word gets out about Peeta and I dating which makes everyone talk about it, apparently there was a lot of guys including Thom waiting in line which honestly worried me, how could I have been that attractive? Was I really that appealing? But what makes me feel better was the reaction of Delly when Madge snapped it at her when we were changing into our gym uniform, she cried for the entire sport class but by the end I almost beat her up because of what she could Peeta, if it weren't for him holding me back, I would've ripped out those perfect long hair extensions from her head, she's lucky that Peeta and my friends were there to calm me down because I would've absolutely murdered her.

At lunch Annie and Madge beg me to let them do me a makeover for Peeta and I's first date on Friday, of course I had to say yes if I wanted them to shut up

"You guys totally need a ship name" Madge admits

"Ship name? Really?" I groan putting my face in Peeta's shoulder

"You know their names make Peniss" Finnick says which earns a hit from Annie

"What?! It's true though!" Finnick defends while rubbing the back of his head where he got hit

"No! That's not it! There's got to be a better one!" Madge groans

"Really Madge, you don't have to do this" Peeta chuckles as Madge is in deep thought

"I do! And I've got the name! Everlark! That'll be your Ship name! Everlark!" Madge squeals

"That actually doesn't sound half bad" I admit

"I actually quite like that" Peeta chuckles

"Good. Then it's settled, the Everlark boat has sailed off" she replies making me roll my eyes.

"What a coincidence that we've got an assignment together isn't it?" Peeta smirks as we walk out of school, I roll my eyes at my boyfriend

"Oh my god.... you know we're doing nothing but studying" I laugh

"I know, just messing with you" he chuckles kissing me on the cheek, Madge has school work to complete so it's just Peeta and I driving home. I walk through the front door with Peeta and my mom comes into view

"Hey mom, I thought you had work?" I ask as she's still in her pale purple scrubs

"I did but they told me to go home to rest because I've been working non stop" she explains

"Okay well Peeta and I are going to start our assignment at the dinner table" I smile and she kisses my forehead

"Sounds good. Have fun, not too much though" she chuckles while walking off after saying goodbye to Peeta as well, Peeta and I sit at the table, while he sets up I get some snacks and two bottles of apple juice

"So about our date..." Peeta trails off as I sit next to him

"Yeah..." I smile

"Well I uh.... I was thinking dress nice but not fancy" he says

"That means I have to wear a dress?" I groan

"Oh come on! I've never seen you in a dress before" he chuckles

"But I don't suit dresses" I whine

"Well, could you wear one for your boyfriend?" He pouts

"Fiiiiiine" I agree and he looks at me with a cheeky smile, I lean over and start kissing him but obviously we get a little carried away

"Okay you guys are cute but please no affection when I'm around" we jump apart to see Prim standing in the kitchen

"What are you doing? I thought you were going to Rues" I embarrassingly say

"She went home early cause she was sick. Why did you want to make out with your boyfriend?" She smirks biting into her apple

"Prim.... can you at least not try and embarrass me in front of Peeta" I groan

"Who cares it's not like he's going to like you any less" she scoffs

"That's true" Peeta admits, making me blush, how did I get here? How did I deserve to be here?
