Like usual I hear crying coming from the baby monitor that's on my bedside table which signals that Willow is up and wanting to wake up her mommy and daddy. I go to get her because Peeta got in late from work yesterday due to him finishing the last touches of Willows birthday cake which looked amazing but it left my poor hubby exhausted so being the amazing wife I am, I made him a decent dinner and we watched whatever he wanted just to ease the tension off of him for the night. When I walk into Willows bedroom her crying starts to get quieter and quieter as she sees me walking up to where she sits in her white wooden crib, I pick her up and hold her against my chest
"It's okay, mommy's here. No need to cry anymore" I coo rocking her as her head lays on my chest
"Happy birthday Will bear, I know that you're going to have so much fun" I say as I walk downstairs, I open and close the baby gate then I roll her high chair into the kitchen and place her in it so I can start breakfast, I make Willow her usual formula drink along side a teething cracker seeing as her teeth are starting to come in now
"Okay Willow, today will be a very busy day but you'll get to see all of your family, even Annie can make it with Finnick and Kai, you remember Kai right?" I tell my year old daughter who just chews on her cracker just staring at me, she can only really say 'dada' and 'mama' along with other babbling after it but the one thing we've been waiting for was for her to start walking which means that Peeta and I carry her everywhere or she gets pushed in the stroller if we're going somewhere. Just as I start setting Peeta and I's plates with breakfast Peeta finally makes his way down still in his boxers, he kisses the top of Willows head then kisses my neck
"Mmm, thanks for last night. Especially when we were in bed" he says from behind my, his arms hugging me from behind
"No need to thank me, I'm your wife. It's my job to please you when you're feeling down" I smile turning around then I kiss him
"I made breakfast while you were sleeping, you know I'm a bad cook so you don't have to eat it if you don't want to okay?" I admit giving him his plate with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans and toast which honestly doesn't look too bad so I wheel Willows high chair beside my chair and while I have a bite here and there I feed Willow smooshed banana that she likes so much, she can eat small portions of solid foods but Peeta and I tend to watch what she's given but she seems to be taking eating solids pretty well lately
"So, who's coming to the park for Willows party today?" Peeta asks
"My parents, your parents, Prim, Rory and the kids, Madge and Gale with baby Abigail, Annie and Finnick with Kai, your brothers with their wives and kids then Johanna, Wayne and Payton. That's everyone who can make it well pretty much they were the only ones we invited" I reply
"That's more than enough, besides she is just a one year old girl" he honestly states
"That's true, I don't care that it's a small party cause it's our family together to celebrate Willow" I smile as I finish feeding Willow
"Exactly, my family and friends are the people who matter the most to me" he says coming over to me and kisses the side of my head before taking my plate then I hear something tip over, I look to Willow who has smooched banana all over her but of course she just lets out a cheeky smile and giggles, this girl for sure doesn't mind getting dirty
"Come on you cheeky monkey, lets give you a bath to clean you all up" I chuckle as I lift her out of her high chair and take her upstairs to the bathroom where I start to run the warm bubbly water. It gets nice and bubbly but also deep enough that Willow can sit down as I bathe her, I found out that if she has bubbles in her bath then it's easier to give her one as she's distracted by them
