Angeline
She sat by his side, holding onto his hand tightly, as if he might disappear at any moment.
"Cole. Wake up.... Please." On the outside he looked like he was sleeping peacefully but she could still remember when they had carried him down the staircase.
"You promised." Angeline rested her head on his chest. She stayed like that for a moment, and when she sat up there were small wet marks were she had been crying. "You promised that you would stay by my side."
A movement caught her eyes and she turned to see Hayden peering around the edge of the door.
"You sent for me?" Her voice quivered a bit and she seemed to be avoiding looking at the motionless figure on the bed.
"Yes." Angeline stood, trying to recover, "yes. You found him, right? They said that you did."
"I..."Hayden's voice seemed to catch slightly and she cleared her throat. "Yes I did."
Angeline moved so fast that before she could think she was in front of the werewolf, and pulling her into a hug.
Hayden flinched away, unsure how to react. "I just happened to be in the right place at the right time."
"But... Why did you help him? After everything we have put you through... It's because of you that he's going to live."
"He's alive?" Hayden stared at Cole, realisation dawning on her features.
"Well, technically he is very dead... But yes."
"That's... Good."
"Hayden thank you so much. I won't forget this. I won't. Anything you want you can have."
"You don't owe me anything Angeline." Hayden smiled. "I have everything I need here."
Angelines eyes stung with tears. She hugged Hayden again and this time the werewolf hugged back, hoping that the vampire wouldn't see the look in her eyes.
Really small chapter but there is a really large one coming so it will make it up hopefully.
