~5 years later~

Alyssas POV:

"Mommy, mommy!" My son, Caleb Smiled as while i walked into his kindergarten classroom to pick him up.

"Hey Bubba." I smiled and bent down to hug him. Bubba is his nick name we call him.

"We painted with our hands and made hand hearts and we had music time and played insturments!" He smiled.

"You did? Wow, did you have fun?" I asked him.

"Yes!" He smiled widly.

"Hi Ms. Braun. Can i talk to you for a moment?" Calebs teacher asked.

"Go play with your friends a little, okay?" I told Caleb, he then left and played with some of the other kids that were waiting for their parents.

"You can just call me Alyssa." I smiled while standing up. "So, whats up?" I asked.

"We strongly encourage both parents to attend and participate in parents day tomorrow, the staff doesnt want any child to be left out, it will be so good for Caleb if you and his father attend tomorrow." She said.

"Um.. I'm not sure if we can attend.. Justim and I, we... We've never talked these past 5 years, Caleb has never met him." I said a little quieter.

"That explains why he only draws you, grandma, grandpa, his cousin, and his other grandma when he draws his family." Mrs. Hoza said. "So he doesnt have a father figure whatsoever?"

"He has a father... But he has never met him... We live in a huge house, Just me and Caleb."

"Are you and Justin angry at eachother or?"

"I dont think hes angry at me, maybe just upset. Justin was on tour when Caleb was born, everyone was in the delivery room when Caleb arrived, exept him. I wasnt disapointed or anything. I understood he was working and couldnt get there fast enough. But after he was born, Justin was just working a lot and was never really home. Our relationship just fell apart and we went our seprate ways. Justin hasnt tried contacting me since that day. So i dont know." I said. It was hard for me, but it was true.

"Well, please try and get Justin to make it to parents day, Caleb has been really excited."

"Excited? How?"

"Whenever we mention parents day this past week he would be saying stuff like 'yes my daddy is coming home!' Or stuff like 'im finally seeing my daddy'... Caleb knows what he looks like."

"Caleb knows Justin, how he looks?"

"Yes, some of his classmates have been giving him pictures of Justin and asking him to take them home so he can sign them, i've been taking them away."

"I dont want Caleb to be disapointed tomorrow." I sighed while looking over at him. Should i finally talk to Justin after these few years? What if Justin doesnt want to even see me? I was so caught up in my thought that i didnt realize Caleb was calling me.

"Mommy, what's wrong?" Caleb asked sadly.

"Oh nothing baby. Mommy was just thinking." I sighed while smiling slightly.

"Well i think thats it, please try and make it to parents day, both of you." his teacher smiled.

"Got it. I'll try." I said trying not to let a frown fall upon my face. Its honestly been 5 years since i've had contact with Justin. Justin hasnt even met Caleb and Caleb hasnt met Justin. I cant keep Caleb from wanting a dad. Wait, can i? NO SHUT UP ALYSSA HE DESERVES TO KNOW HIS FATHER i scolded at myself in my head.
