Chapter 4: Questions But No Answers

Time Skip after school

Shadow's POV

I'm starting to get really worried about Sonic, something isn't right. He seems too happy whenever he's either around Jet or when Jet talks to him. When I saw Sonic smiling at us when he left with Jet, he looked like he was fake smiling. Something's wrong and I know it has to do with Jet being around Sonic. I was walking towards the gate of the school but I got stopped by Knuckles. "Hey Shadow, have you seen Sonic?" Knuckles asked me while letting go of my arm. "Um, no, last I remember is that he has last period with Scourge and Fleetway" I said to Knuckles while hoping nothing bad happened to Sonic. "Do you know what their last period is?" Knuckles asked me so I showed him the way. "Knuckie, I couldn't find Sonic in the parking lot" Rouge said to Knuckles. "Hi Shadow" Rouge said to me with a smile. "Hi Rouge, glad to see you" I said to her. "Good to see you too" Rouge said to me while holding Knuckle's hand. "So what are we going to do now?" Rouge asked Knuckles while having a worried look on her face. "Well right now, Shadow is showing me where Sonic's last period is at to see if he's with Fleetway and Scourge" Knuckles said with some hope in his voice. "Oh hun, don't worry, we'll find Sonic, I'm sure he's okay" Rouge said to Knuckles to reassure him. I just hope Sonic is okay and not hurt. We walked down the hall and saw Fleetway. "Hey Fleetway!" Knuckles called to him. "Hey you guys, what's up?" Fleetway said to us as we walked up to him. "By any chance is Sonic with you and Scourge?" Knuckles asked Fleetway hoping Sonic is with them. "Oh yeah, he's inside grabbing his things, Scourge is with him inside" Fleetway said to us and we all felt relieved. "Thank goodness, see, I told you he would be okay" Rouge said while hugging Knuckles. "Why? What's going on?" Fleetway asked us confused. "Me and Tails got worried about Sonic and we want him to come home with us after school, he always goes with Jet after school" Knuckles said while grabbing his phone out. "Hmm, don't you think it's weird that Sonic has been acting different lately?" Fleetway asked us. We all looked at each other and I spoke up, "now that you mentioned it, he does act different when Jet is around" I said. "He's got point, hun, when was the last time when Sonic didn't go with Jet after school?" Rouge asked Knuckles. "Last I remember was ever since Sonic met Jet" Knuckles said while looking in the room to see if Sonic is coming out. "You think Jet has anything to do with Sonic acting different?" Fleetway asked us. "Hey guys" Silver said walking from down the hall with Mephiles. "Hey" we all said together. "You guys waiting for Sonic?" Mephiles asked while checking inside the classroom. "Yeah, boy for the fastest thing alive can be slow at times" Knuckles said while chuckling. We all chuckled at his comment. "Hey guys, what are you doing?" Sonic said as he came out with Scourge. "We were waiting for you guys" Fleetway said to Sonic and Scourge. "Alright let's go" Knuckles said while he put his arm around Rouge. We walked towards the gate. We were all about to separate until Jet came towards us. "Hey Sonic, are you ready to go?" Jet said getting closer to Sonic. I felt protective and I didn't want Sonic to go with Jet. "Actually, we want Sonic to come with us today" Knuckles said standing in front of Sonic. "But I'm sure Sonic wants to come with me right Sonic?" Jet said looking at Sonic. I looked at Sonic and I can tell he doesn't want to go with Jet. Sonic sighed, "Knuckles, I'm going to go with Jet, ok?" Sonic said while walking away from us and towards Jet. I can't let him do this,"AAAAAAAUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHH" was all I could think of in my head at the moment. "Sonic please, me and Tails need you home today" Knuckles said with begging in his voice. 

Sonic's POV

Knuckles was begging me to not go with Jet and believe me I don't but I don't have a choice anymore. "I'm going with Jet, I promised him I would hang out with him" I said with a fake smile. Knuckles sighed, "just be back home by 6:30pm please" Knuckles said with concern in his voice. "I will, don't worry" I said and walked away with Jet. I looked back to see everyone with worried faces. "You did a good job at hiding it" Jet said while we walked around the corner. The last thing I saw was Shadow staring at me full of worried in his eyes. "Does Shadow care that much about me?" I thought in my head. We made it to Jet's place and I didn't want to go inside, I just wanted to run for my life. "Well, what are you waiting for? Get inside" Jet said with a stern voice and was waiting for me to go in but I stood still. "Cutie, don't test me, I already had a bad day, get your ass inside NOW!" Jet yelled at me and made me jump a little. I ran inside and before I knew it Jet slammed the door and started to punch me. "JET STOP!" I yelled and begged him to stop but no matter what he wouldn't stop. "This is what you get cutie, now hold still" Jet said while grabbing a bat. "No no no no please don't, not the bat, Jet please" I crawled back and whimpered. "Don't worry cutie, this will only hurt a lot" Jet said while smirking. He hit me with the bat on the stomach, face, and legs. I spit blood out and screamed from all the pain. I don't know how long I can take this anymore. 

Shadow's POV

I was at Knuckles, Tails, and Sonic's house with the rest of our friends there. "Okay everyone, we need to ask you some questions" Tails said while walking from the kitchen. "Have you guys noticed that Sonic seems different?" Tails said sitting on the couch. "Yeah, when me and blue were in the classroom after school he seemed like he didn't want to leave" Scourge said. "But the question here is why?" Knuckles said while Rouge puts her hand on his shoulder. "Do you think Jet has something to do with it?" Silver asked feeling a bit sad. "We've tried asking Sonic if everything is okay with him and Jet, but, we have a feeling he's lying to us lately" Knuckles said sighing. "You don't think Sonic is starting to get depressed?" Fleetway asked feeling a bit worried. "But he always looks so happy all the time" Mephiles said. "What if he's faking it?" I asked and everyone looked at me. "If he is then he's doing a good job at it" Rouge said putting her head down. "What are we going to do? If we try asking Sonic, he'll probably change the subject" Tails said with worry starting to fill in his eyes. There's so many questions we have but they can't be answered.
