Chapter 8: Enjoying Company

Sonic's POV

Later, during the day, I was resting on my bed since I was still hurt. I was laying down while thinking about me and Shadow. How we kissed made me feel so happy, so loved, so safe. I sighed, "I love him so much but what am I going to do about Jet?" I asked myself. I heard my door creak making get out of my thoughts. "Hey love, I thought you could use some company and I also brought you a snack" Shadow said with a loving voice. He walked towards me and handed me chocolate chips cookies. "Thanks Shadow, did you make these?" I asked him while trying to sit up. "Yes and here let me help you sit up" Shadow said as he helped me sit up. "Thank you" I said as I gave him a kiss on his cheek. He blushed and I decided to tease him. "Aww, you're blushing. That's cute" I said with a small giggle. "Oh really? Well you know, you blush more when I kiss you" Shadow said with a smirk. I stopped giggling and started to blush a bright red. "Aww, see love" Shadow said with a chuckle. "Sh-shut up" I pouted while eating my cookie. "Oh my love, it's alright, I think it's cute when you blush" Shadow said while holding me close to his chest. His chest fur is so soft. I can stay like this forever. I heard my door knock. Me and Shadow looked at each other and then at the door. "Who is it?" Shadow asked. "It's me, Fleetway. Can I come in?" Fleetway asked. Shadow looked at me, asking if it's okay and I nodded. "You can come in" Shadow said. Fleetway came in and walked towards us. "Hey Sonic, how are you feeling?" Fleetway asked me while sitting on the edge of my bed. "Well I still feel hurt but other than that I'm okay" I said while grabbing another cookie. "Well that's good, me and the others were wondering what would you like to have for dinner?" Fleetway asked. "CHILI DOGS!" I said with so much excitement. Shadow and Fleetway chuckled. "Alright, I'll go to tell the others" Fleetway said while getting up. "I'll come help, I'll be down in 5 minutes" Shadow said and Fleetway nodded. He left leaving me and Shadow alone. "Shadow?" I called to him. "Yes my love?" Shadow asked. Oh I love it when he calls me his love. "Do you think we should tell the others about us?" I asked while cuddling with him. "After dinner we'll tell them and then you need to explain to them about Jet" Shadow said. I can't tell them about Jet, not yet. "Sonic look at me" Shadow said and I looked at him straight into his ruby red eyes. "I know you're scared to tell them but we want you to be safe and happy and clearly Jet hasn't been making you feel that way. We're all here for you, I'm here for you" Shadow said with so much caring. I sighed, "okay, I'll tell them" I said feeling a bit sad.

Shadow's POV

Sonic looked sad when he said he'll tell them. I hate to see him sad. I hugged him tightly. "Hey don't be sad, I'll be with you when you tell them" I said trying to make him feel better. "I just... I just don't want them to worry" Sonic said while hugging me tighter. "They're your friends Sonic, we have to worry and we're here to help you when you need us" I said while stroking his quills. "I'm scared Shadow" Sonic said and I can tell he's about to cry. "My love, I promise you, I won't let Jet hurt you. I will protect you" I said. "You promise?" Sonic asked while looking at me. I smiled and kissed his forehead. "I promise, now get some rest. I'll be back as soon as dinner is ready, okay?" I said while kissing his cheek. "Okay and Shadow?" Sonic called to me. I looked at him, "Yes?" I said. "I love you" Sonic said while pulling me closer. "I love you too my love" I said while putting my hand on his cheek. "Get some rest, I'll be back" I said. "Wait" Sonic said. "What is i-" Sonic pulled me and kissed me on the lips. I kissed back with so much passion. I broke the kiss and smiled at Sonic. "Alright get some rest my love" I said while helping him lay down. "Thanks Shadow" Sonic said with a smile. "Your welcome my love" I said as I got up and left Sonic's room. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Fleetway, Scourge, Mephiles, and Silver were in the kitchen getting the stuff ready. Silver and Mephiles were setting the table and Fleetway and Scourge were taking the plates out. "Hey Shads" Fleetway greeted me. "Hey you guys, you need help?" I asked "Yes, can you get the napkins?" Silver said. "Sure" I said while walking to the cabinet. "So how's blue?" Scourge asked. "He's alright, a bit hurt but he's alright" I said while taking the napkins out. "Where's Tails, Knuckles, and Rouge?" I asked putting the napkins on the table. "They went to the store to get the stuff for dinner" Mephiles said. "Oh okay" I said. 

Time Skip

Dinner was ready and I went upstairs to go get Sonic. I opened the door to see Sonic asleep. He looks so cute when he's asleep. "Sonic, wake up, dinner is ready" I said while shaking him a little. "hmmm food?" Sonic said in a tired voice. I chuckled, "yes Sonic, food. Your favorite, chili dogs" I said and Sonic immediately sat up and tried to get out of bed but hurt himself in the process. "Woah, take it easy. Let me help you get downstairs" I said while helping Sonic stand up. "Hehe sorry, I got excited" Sonic said with a smile. "Hehe come on let's get you downstairs" I said while holding him close so he won't fall. We walked downstairs and went to the kitchen. "SONIC!" everyone said with excitement. "Hey everyone" Sonic said with a small smile. I helped him sit and sat next to him. "Hope you're hungry hun" Rouge said while putting a chili dog on Sonic's plate. "Boy, am I ever! I love chili dogs!" Sonic said while eating his chili dog. Everyone chuckled. We all ate and then we all went into the living room. I was helping Sonic walk into the living room until Sonic stopped me. "What is it? What's wrong?" I asked while looking at him. "I'm scared" Sonic said with a sad face. "Hey, it's ok to be scared, I'm here with you. I'll help you explain everything" I said while kissing his cheek. "Thanks Shadow" Sonic said with a small smile. We walked into the living room and sat down. "Everyone, Sonic wants to tell you guys what happened to him" I said while holding Sonic's hand. "But before I tell you what happened, there's something else I need to tell you or should I say we" Sonic said while smiling at me and I smiled back. Everyone looked at us confused. "What is it?" Tails asked. "Me and Shadow are together" Sonic said. Everyone blinked but then they cheered and congratulated us. "Now that's out, what happened to you?" Rouge asked. Sonic sighed and started to explain everything to them about Jet, his depression, and how he couldn't tell them. Eveyone understood and did a group hug. "Sonic, you should've told us. We're all here for you" Tails said. "I know, I should've, I'm sorry" Sonic said while putting his head down. I hugged him. "Hey it's ok, we'll protect you from Jet, blue" Scourge said. "Thanks you guys" Sonic said with a smile. We all started to play games and Sonic was having a great time. I was standing by the kitchen and I can see Sonic smiling and this time his smiles are all real, they're not fake like the other ones.It made me smile. "So you and Sonic as couple. I knew you liked him" Fleetway said while walking towards me. "Tease me and you're dead" I said. "Don't tempt him Fleetway, Shadow will murder you" Mephiles said walking towards us. "But you two make a cute couple" Fleetway said. "What about you and Scourge" I said teasing Fleetway. Fleetway blushed a bright red and me and Mephiles chuckled. "Hey! What about you and Silver?!" Fleetway half yelled and half whispered. Mephiles stopped chuckling and blushed a bright red. "Both of you look ridiculous when you blush" I said while laughing. "Oh really? What about you when Sonic kisses you, I bet you blush too" Mephiles and Fleetway said at the same time. I stopped laughing and blushed a dark red. They started laughing. "You guys are so dead" I said. They started running and I chased them all over the house.
