Chapter 14: He Saved Me....

Sonic's POV

I couldn't hold my breath in anymore and so I let go my last breath. I see Shadow at the top and he yelled my name. "Sonic!" I started to close my eyes. "Am I going to die today?" I thought to myself.  The last thing I saw was Shadow swimming towards me. "Shadow....." I thought to myself and closed my eyes. 

Shadow's POV

I reached out my hand and grabbed Sonic's hand. His eyes were closed. I looked at the chain and tried to break it but it wouldn't budge. I had to use my powers. I used chaos spear and the chains broke. I pulled Sonic and started to swim up as fast as I can. I was above surface and breathed and coughed. I swam to the entrance and got out. I started to do mouth to mouth on Sonic. He wasn't breathing. "Come on, come on Sonic" I said. I started to pump his chest. Nothing. I gave him mouth to mouth again and pump his chest. "Please don't leave me" I said as tears started to come out. I tried again and hoped he would come back. Sonic started to cough. He opened his eyes and looked at me. "Sh-Shadow?" Sonic said weakly. "I'm here, don't worry, we're getting you out of here" I said as I started to help him when all of sudden. "SHADOW WATCH OUT!" Mephiles yelled. I turned to see Jet throw a knife. I braced myself for the impact but Sonic pushed me out of the way. "SONIC!" everyone yelled, including me. "NO!" I yelled and held Sonic in my arms. "The little rat deserved it" Jet said. Mephiles kicked Jet as hard as he can. I looked around to see if there's something I can do to stop the bleeding. I saw a towel and had an idea. "Fleetway, get me that towel, hurry!" I yelled. "On it" Fleetway said as he went to get the towel and handed it to me. "Sonic, stay with me. This might hurt a little" I said. "I t-trust y-you Sh-Shadow" Sonic said weakly. "Fleetway, I'm going to need your help with this" I said as I ripped half of the towel. "Okay, what do you want me to do?" Fleetway asked. "You're going to pull the knife out when I tell you to" I said while putting the towel underneath Sonic. "Okay" Fleetway said. "Shadow, he's coming towards you!" Silver yelled. I looked up to see Jet running towards me and Fleetway. "Shit" I said. "Oh no you don't" Scourge said as he ran to Jet and tackled him down. "We'll take care of this, just save Blue" Scourge said. "Okay, ready Sonic?" I asked. Sonic nodded slowly. "Okay Fleetway, pull it out" I said. "Okay, I'll try my best to make it less painful Sonic" Fleetway said as he put his hand on the knife. Sonic nodded as his eyes started to close. Fleetway pulled it out fast. "AAAAGGGHHH!" Sonic yelled in pain. I quickly wrapped the towel around Sonic's wound and tied it. The blood stopped. "Okay, we have to get him to a hospital" I said. Fleetway nodded and we got up. I carried Sonic bridal style. I looked up to see everyone grabbing a hold of Jet. I walked towards them. "Let's go, we have to go to the hospital" I said as I walked to the door. "Oh and Rouge, call G.U.N., they'll deal with Jet" I said. "Right" Rouge said. "We'll meet you at the hospital. Make sure Sonic is okay" Fleetway said. "Okay, be safe you guys" I said. "Don't worry, this bird got his ass kicked by us" Knuckles said. We all chuckled and I left to the hospital as fast as I can. I made it to the hospital. "Help, please!" I yelled. A nurse came and looked at Sonic. "Oh my, what happened?" She asked. "No time, please help him!" I said. "Right away sir" She said. She announced an emergency room. Doctors and nurses came as fast as they can and took Sonic. I tried to follow but the nurse stopped me. "Sir, you need to wait in the waiting room" she said. "But he needs me" I said. "I'm sorry sir, but you need to wait in the waiting room" she said. I sighed and went to the waiting room. 

Time Skip

It's been an hour and I'm still waiting. "Shadow, where's Sonic?" I heard Tails ask. I looked up to see everyone run towards me. "They took him to the emergency room" I said while standing up. "I hope he's okay" Silver said. "Don't worry hun, Sonic is a fighter. He's strong enough to make it through" Rouge said. "Who's here for Sonic the Hedgehog?" the doctor asked while standing in the waiting room. We all looked at him and I spoke for all of us. "We are" I said. "How is he?" Tails asked. "He's going to be fine. That towel saved his life" the doctor said. We felt relieved that Sonic is okay. "Can we see him?" Fleetway asked. "Yes, but he's resting so keep it down a little" the doctor said. "Thank you" I said. "Of course, now follow me. I'll show you to his room" the doctor said while turning around and started walking. We all followed him to Sonic's room. "Here we are, room 234. If you need anything or help, ask any of our nurses" the doctor said. "Thank you" Tails said.  The doctor nodded and left. "Alright, let's see how he is" Mephiles said. We all nodded and I opened the door. We walked in to see Sonic in bed resting. I smiled knowing he's going to be okay. "I'm glad he's safe" Knuckles said. We all nodded in agreement. We sat down on chairs and talked. I looked out the window. "Shadow, you okay?" Mephiles asked. "Yeah, I'm just thinking" I said while looking out the window. Mephiles and Fleetway sat down next  to me. "What's on your mind?" Fleetway asked. "I should've been the one to get stabbed by the knife, not Sonic" I said. "Shadow, Sonic cares about you" Mephiles said. "Heck, he loves you Shadow" Fleetway said. "Sonic did it to save you because you mean a lot to him" Mephiles said. "He's right you know" Silver said. I turned to look at everyone. "Blue always does everything that he can to protect his friends" Scourge said. "He loves you Shadow" Rouge said. "He loves you so much that he is willing to die for your safety" Knuckles said. We all looked at Sonic. "He would do it for any of us" Tails said. "He's one amazing hedgehog" I said. "He sure is" everyone said at the same time. Later on we spent the night in the hospital. I was the last one to sleep. Sonic saved my life and for that I am grateful. I stroke his quills. "Thank you Sonic, I promise I won't leave your side" I said and kissed his forehead. "I love you Sonic" I said and fell asleep. The last thing I thought was that he saved me....

Sonic's POV

I fainted on the way to the hospital. I was dreaming that there was nothing but white. "Sonic" I heard a girl's voice. I turned around to see a young girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. "Who are you? Where am I?" I asked her. "Don't worry Sonic, you're not dead. My name is Maria, I'm an old friend of Shadow's. I'm here to tell you something" Maria said. "You must keep on trying to stay alive" Maria said. "But....I'm not strong enough" I said while looking down. "Sonic, I've seen you and I know you are strong enough. All your friends think you're strong, especially Shadow" Maria said while putting her hand on my cheek. "They think I'm strong?" I asked. "Of course, they're friends after all" Maria said. I smiled, "thank you Maria" I said. She giggled and gave me a hug. "Now, keep on trying to stay alive. Your friends are waiting for you" Maria said. "I will, thank you" I said. She left and with that I opened my eyes to see all my friends asleep and Shadow sleeping near me. I was covered with bandages and a few bruises and scratches on me. I smiled knowing that my friends care about me. I kissed Shadow's forehead and went back to sleep.
