Hello everyone,
I apologize for not posting any new chapters for quite a long time, but I've been thinking...
I just feel like the current version I have of Field Trip has gone in a completely different direction than I intended it to, and I'm just not as happy as I should be with it. Not to mention it's incredibly short, and I wanted it to be more like a novel when I first wrote it.
Then, something happened last week. Someone hacked into my favorite writer's Wattpad and his account was closed. For a whole day, we thought his work was gone forever. Thankfully, it wasn't. However, this made me very concerned for the safety of my own writing and account. What if the same happened to me, and my work was deleted forever?
That is when I had an idea. As the secretary of my school creative writing club, I am always looking for new activities and events for creative writers. One of these activities is NaNoWriMo.
What is NaNoWriMo? It stands for National Novel Writing Month, and the mission is to write a 30,000 word novel in just 30 days!
I had always wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo, but I had no idea what to write. That's when I remembered that I had a story that I wanted to turn into a novel: Field Trip! So I began planning, and here is the plan:
I am going to rework/complete Field Trip during the entire month of November on Google Docs because, for some reason, I feel more motivated to write if I work on there. Then, in December, I am going to transfer the entire novel onto Wattpad and replace the chapters currently on here!
In other words, the bad news is you will have to wait over a month for another update. The good news is, when I do update, it will be the entire novel rather than just one short, sad chapter! How does that sound?
So, starting tomorrow, November 1st, I will begin my novel-writing journey, one which I am both excited and nervous to take! Any words of encouragement you might have would be great!😉
So that's it! I hope you have/had a fantastic Halloween, and I'll see you soon with the completed novel (hopefully)!😄
~Cara
