Oh, little firefly small and bright, comes out to bring light to the night.

Leading lost souls to unknown goals.

Oh, little firefly flying so high.

Helps dry the tears you cry.

Zigzagging by, showing your life is but a lie.

Oh, little firefly with so much company, its still alone.

It glides to the beat of a cricket’s song.

It was an explorer all along.

Oh, little firefly a magical being, brings hope and ties away worry with invisible string.

Sewing a beautiful quilt with its luminous threads, taking dread from within you head.

Oh, little firefly with a heart that guides its companions through the dark.

And when no one comes to see the little fire fly, it wonders in search of the broken beaten and bruised.

It dreams of a day when people come to stay.

For all it knew was everything eventually fades.

In time, it’s come to the end of the line.

With a flicker from a leaf high in the trees, it looks down and beauty is what it sees.

Whispering winds lifts its chin for relieving others from the troubles they’re in.

As its eyes grow heavy for the last time, small lights appear.

Other fireflies grow near to relieve the little firefly of its fears.

Oh, little firefly so small and strong, closes its eyes to one last cricket song.

As its light goes out for good the leaf falls to the ground and the little firefly sleeps without sound.
