Panem High: Part 2

Chapter 28

Katniss pov

I've been on be rest for 6 days, and tomorrow is my ultrasound. I sit up in bed and push my feet past the blanket. Unfortunately Peeta couldn't have bed rest with me, but Lily is just as good.

She's giggling by my side while her favorite movie is on. I hear someone knocking on our bedroom door.

"Come in!" Lily says. Not Peeta, but Annie stands in the doorway.

"Aunt Annie!" Lily says and Annie picks her up and kisses her belly.

"Hey An," I say smiling as she pulls me into a hug.

"How you feeling?" She asks. Annie and I are as close as ever. Even if we don't see each other everyday.

"I'm good, just tired though," I say.

"Well I hope your hungry because I brought food!" She says and holds a bag.

"Yay!!!" Lily says.

Annie, Lily and I have a wonderful lunch. Lily is indulged in her movie while Annie and I are cstching up.

"So, I have some good news," Annie says.

"What is it??" I ask curious.

"I'm pregnant!!!" she says very loudly.

"You're pregnant?!" I say excited for her.

She nods her head back and forth.

"How far are you? When did you find out?!" I ask.

"I'm 6 weeks, just found out yesterday!" Annie squeals.

"An, I'm so happy for you!!" I say and give her a hug!

"I'm having Fin call everyone to get together so I can tell them, but don't tell anyone! Not even Peeta!" Annie says.

"Ok, ok!" I say.

Later, Annie decided to take Lily to the park while I take a nap. I'm so glad I have Annie as a bestfriend.

The next morning Peeta wakes me up with a kiss.

"Good morning beautiful," Peeta says.

"Good morning," I say beaming a smile.

"Ready to get up?" He asks. I nod my head and start pulling the blankets off me, but Peeta runs around the bed and helps me up. He helps me to the bathroom, even though I insisted I'm fine.

I take a shower and let the water run over me. I get dressed in running shorts and a tanktop. It's almost summer, and it's gotten super hot here.

I go to the living room where Peeta's on the phone. I grab a banana and start to peel it when he hugs me around my waist.

He keeps talking, then he hangs up and kisses the top of my head.

"Ready to go?" He asks me.

"Ya, who were you talking to?" I ask back.

"Finnick. The whole group is getting together tomorrow and they wanted to know if we wanted to come, I said I would talk to you and call him back later," he says. I pretend this is news to me but I swear, Peeta can't make a decision without me.

"Of course, I'll ask Prim if she wants to babysit," I say.

"Let's go, we dont want to be late," Peeta says and helps me to the car.

We pull into the doctor's office and Peeta checks me in. We wait until I hear the nurse call my name. We follow her back, and down the hall.

"Just have a seat here and Dr. Lee will be right with you," the nurse says and quietly leaves.

I can't help but feel nervous. "Peeta, what if the baby isn't okay?

"The baby will be fine," he says. Peeta grabs my hand and kisses it.

Dr. Lee knocks on the door and comes in quietly. "Hey guys! How have you been Kat?"

"Good, I've stayed in bed all week like you said," I say and she smiles at me.

"Perfect, I'm sure the baby is doing just fine. Let's check him or her out," she says and grabs the jelly she'll be putting on my belly.

Dr. Lee pulls up my tanktop and pours some of the cold, clear jelly and rubs it around. An image appears on the screen and I see Peeta's and my beautiful baby.

"So as I said last week, the normal heart rate for 8-10 weeks, is 150-190. Today, the babies hear rate is 148. That's increased since last time. It's still low, and we will have to watch over it," Dr. Lee says.

"What if the babys heart rate stays low?" Peeta asks.

"What are the long term effects of it or what can a low heart rate have against the baby?" I chirp in.

Dr. Lee informs us that 2/5 babies with a low heart rate unfortunetly end up in a miscarrige but she also says most of those babies have a much lower heart rate. If our baby will continue to have a low heart rate, it could be premature at birth but the chances aren't too high.

"Any more questions?"

I look at Peeta and he gives me a nod saying no.

"Nope, I think were good," I say and smile,

"Great! And everything looks fine, and I'll see you guys in 4 weeks, which by then you guys will be able to find out the sex of the baby! Kat, still take it a little bit easy, don't strain yourself. I'll see you guys soon," Dr. Lee says.

Peeta drives me to my old house so we can pick up Lily. We go home and Lily decides she wants to go to the lake. The 3 of us gets dressed in our bathing suits and Peeta and I chase Lily to the lake. She knows her way around her already and leads us there.

When we get to the lake, Peeta picks up Lily and they jump in together. I jump in after them and we have a fun day swimming and jumping.

After a while, Lily asks Peeta to bring some lunch over since she doesn't want to leave. Of course Peeta agrees, he would do anything for the two of us. I sit in the shallow water that's only an inch or two high. Lilys sitting on my lower stomach playing with my hair.

"Mommy?" Lily asks looking at me.

"Yes princess?" I ask her.

"Is there really a baby in your stomach?" she says giggling. She always asks this question.

"Yes Lil, do you want to talk to the baby?" I ask her.

She puts her hands on my belly, "What do I say?"

"Well, you could tell the baby how good you are at gymnastics, or what a good big sister you'll be," I say.

Instead she leans in to my stomach and says something really quiet I barely catch it. "You'll really love your mommy. She's the best," Lily says and smiles. Then she kisses my baby bump and looks up at me.

"When the baby comes, will you and daddy still love me?" She asks.

"Of course Lily. We'll always love you so so much," I answer and gives he a kiss. She beams he gorgeous smile at me and plays in the water. When she sees Peeta coming our way she runs up to him yelling "Daddy daddy!" Over and over again.

Peeta sets up a picnic for us and we have a delicious dinner. I really couldn't ask for a better family.

Oh my gosh its been forever! I'm so so sorry!

 I need comments wether the baby should be a girl or boy. In the book, it's a boy. But some of you want a girl! So please comment ideas! & Vote!! & I'm soso sorry I haven't updated!!
