Chapter 18: Unexpected Disaster

After the match Marissa and I had with the match against Reyes and Fiona. It turns out that Reyes is an old childhood friend of Ruby's and Yang's, which is really cool.

An hour later I found Neo, still in her disguise. Well she did watch my match and gave me a good job kiss on my cheek, causing me to blush a little bit.

After getting caught 'sleeping' with Neo, we started discussing who was going to be the one representing our team in the one vs one fights, team RWBY and JNPR was also there to help us decide. It was between me and Marissa.

"Alright this is going to be a majority vote to decide who's fighting." Said Roland looking around at everyone.

"who ever wants Marissa to fight raise your hands."

As he said Nora, Ren, Ruby and Eagle raised their hands, which makes four votes for Marissa.

"Okay, if you want Leo to be the one to fight raise your hands."

Blake, Yang, Weiss, Pyrrha, and Jaune raised their hands. I noticed Weiss had a small grin on her face.

"Your planning something ice queen." I said playfully narrowing my eyes.

"Whatever do you mean Leo, I'm just trying to help you with your fear of fighting in crowds." She replied with a innocent smile only to recieve a playful glare in return.

"Well that settles it, Leo will be the one fighting for our team." Roland said giving me a small smile as yang put her arm around my neck gently.

"Don't feel to upset when i beat you Leo." She said with a cocky smirk only to get another smirk from me.

"Yeah, like that's going to happen flarehead." I replied back.

"Don't you two forget, you'll also be fighting me as well." Pyrrha said putting a hand on her hip smiling.

Just then we heard the announcement bell go off.

"Will all the contestants for the one vs one finals please report to the arena, I repeat Will all the contestants for the one vs one finals please report to the arena."

As we heard that we wished each other luck as Yang, Pyrrha, and I left the arena while others went to the spectator stands to cheer us on.

Once we got to the stands we line up next to one another. There were a bunch of people in the line up that I didn't know whatsoever.

I did recognize one person, the guy with silver hair. I think his name was Mercury. I only recognize him because he was on Neo's team.

Once I stopped spacing out i noticed the multiple holograms with out pictures on them start scrolling rapidly.

After a few seconds of waiting the holograms stop on Yang and Mercury. One who specializes in punches and one who specializes in kicks, this is will be interesting fight to say the least.

Once they were chosen the rest of us quickly walked off the stage as it began to rise up and the lights focus on the two.

I headed toward the locker room to watch the fight. On my way there I saw someone standing by the entrance.

Once I got closer it was a woman in a doctor's outfit. I guessed they were hanging out around her to make sure the fight doesn't go to crazy.

I walked past her only to have her hand quickly grabbing my wrist and looking at me with this serious look on her.

As I got a closer look at her, I realized that she was extremely short and had purple eyes. She didn't say anything to me either she just glared at me.

"Um...can i help you?" I asked in a slightly nervous tone.

All I got was her stare become less then of a glare to more of a worried look. She then started pulling me along going deeper into the hallway of the locker rooms just to sit me down on a bench.

I sat there confused on what was going on as she stood in front of me staring at me. She then shakes her head then closes her eyes and opening them showing one eye was pink and the other white.

"Neo? What are you doing dressed up like a nurse?" I asked tilting my head to the side even more confused.

As I asked that question I noticed her expression start to sadden almost regretful.

She put her hand out and her free hand pointed at my scroll. I gave her my scroll and she began typing.

Once she was done typing she gave it back to me and i started reading what she typed.

"Leo I'm sorry but I need you to forget about me because what I've got  myself into, I dont want you to get hurt because of the choices I've made." I read that and I felt myself tearing up.

"I-I don't understand. Neo whats going on?" I asked her getting more and more scared about the situation was in.

She grabbed my scroll again and started typing again. After she finished typing she hasitated for moment before handing it me as i began reading.

"All I can tell you is that your friend Marissa isn't whi you think she is. Just get ready, Grimm are going to invade soon and please don't die I would never forgive myself if you'd die."

I looked up at her but she wasn't looking back and I noticed that her eyes were tearing up slightly.

"Neo, you don't have do this. Please don't do this!" I said to her tearing up more standing up.

She didn't look at me, she started walking away. I followed after her. Before I could plead any further she quickly turned around and kissed me before her body shattered like glass, an illusion.

I stood there in tears and in shock. Just then I a broke into a sprint out to the arena just to see Yang shoot Mercury's leg breaking it.
