Chapter 23: Aftermath

~Leo POV~

I woke up, my eyes shot open. I tried to sit up but I felt incredible pain all over my body. Thats when I suddenly remembered everything that happened. Neo, me falling off an airship, everything. How long was I out? How did I even survive that fall.

I guess I have stronger aura then I thought. I tried sitting up again to get my surrounds. All I felt was so much pain. I could tell i had nothing broken but I had some bruises here and there but nothing to serious. Once I was fully up, I began to look around just to get a hard hug almost tackling me.

"Leo, your awake!" I heard Blake say her voice break as I started feeling something wet on my shoulder.

I soon realized she was crying and slowly hugged back looking around. Everyone was looked beaten and battered. Thats when I saw Yang. Her left arm was gone.

"Blake. How long was I out for?" I said almost scared to hear the results.

"You were unconscious for an hour Leo, I was so worried when I found barely with an aura left. What happened Leo? Why were you in that condition?" She asked letting me go looking at me with tears in her eyes, partically scared out of her mind.

I hasitated for a moment remebering everything that happened. Neo's face when I feel was just implanted in my brain. I'm not sure what happened up there.

"I don't remember. Everything is kind of fuzzy. I'm sorry sis." I replied kind of giving her slight sad frown. Only to recieve a small rub on my head.

"Its ok Leo. I'm just glad your ok." She said giving me a sad smile still petting my head causing my wolf ears flatten as I smile. Thats when I realized my Beanie was gone.

My eyes went wide as I started filling my head looking around frantically. I had that beanie ever since I was transferred into the orphanage.

I think Blake noticed me and stopped petting me putting her hands down on her lap.

"I'm sorry Leo I couldn't find your beanie." She said in a sad tone

"I-Its ok sis. I just get another one. It was getting old anyway." I said forcing a smile.

Thats when Blake stood up offering me her hand. I take her hand and I stand up slowly the pain fading slightly as my black aura starts coming back.

"Come on Leo. We're leaving." She said with a stern tone only to get a shocked expression from me.

"Wait what? What do you mean we're leaving? Where are we going Blake?" I asked with panick and urgency.

"We're going home Leo. Back to mom and dad." She said her voice getting lower once she mentioned out parents.

Before I could even say anything else to her we heard a loud growl from behind us. We turned around and our faces went wide eyed. There were a pack of six beowolves closing in on our friends.

I was ready to sprint over there but I still had some pain in my legs causing me to fall on one knee while Blake took off running but from how far we were she wasn't going to make on time.

Thats when something happened. Something that would only happen in myths or legends. Suddenly a white and black grimm that looked like a raptor,having bright blue eyes jumps on one of the backs of the Beowolves and started bitting down on its neck.

I couldnt believe it a grimm, something we were training to fight against for years was helping us and it   looked completely different and that kind of grimm, a Ripclaw, is not native in Beacon. They are Atlas grimm so what was even doing here killing other grimm.

After it killed the pack it looked at yang doing a soft roar and began walking towards her.

Blake Immediately stood in front of it her blade at the ready.

"Stay away from her!" She yelled but she was trembling. Not sure if it was fear or something else.

The grimm took notice of this and gently bumped her out the way causing her to tumble downwards. It continued to walk towards Yang and leaned its head over and sniffed her wounded arm and growled.

It stood back up right and looked at Blake then just ran off. I've never seen a grimm act that way. Blake immediately crawled over to Yang to check if she was ok. She was fine, no new injuries, no nothing she was completely well.

Blake got back up speed walked over to me and grabbed my arm and started pulling me away.

"Blake, wait what are you-"

"Leo. Please we need to go home. Please.." she cut me off with her voice breaking. I noticed some tears rolling down her cheeks.

"O-okay sis. Lets go home." I said as she loosened her grip on my arm and we both left. Not saying goodbye to anyone. We began our journey home, not looking back.
