Chapter 22: Betrayal

~Eagle POV~

So here we all are fighting a bunch of grimm trying to keep them at bay for as long as we can. I don't know where princess is or where the hell Leo went either.

All of a sudden I started feeling the damn ground shake and I can tell everyone was feeling it. Then it just stopped for a moment. I began looking around to figure out what that even was.

Just then I soon found my answer when I heard this loud roar in the distance.

I looked in the direction I heard it from and I noticed something flying towards our direction but it was too far away to tell what is but I know it was large.

As it got closer my eyes widened when I saw that it was giant dragon grimm and even worse it was spawning even more damn grimm!

I sighed heavily getting more annoyed about all this crap going on. I began reloading my ammo of my Tommy gun as I lined up with the rest of student. That's when I noticed Pyrhha  and Jaune heading to Professor Ozpin. I raised a brow curious and followed behind them reaching to an elevator.

After going I dont know how many stories of school, we finally reached the very bottom of the school that I didn't even know existed.

Once those elevator doors opened, we immediately took of in a sprint following Ozpin.

"What is this place?" I heard Jaune asks

"Its a type of vault." Pyrrha repiled back with a slight strain in her voice.

"Wait, you've been here before Pyrhha?" I asked her surprised.

She didn't answer me, leaving Jaune and I concerned even more then when we got here.

"What would this school even need to hide?" Jaune asked nervously.

Thats when both of us stopped when we saw some chick in some sort of cryopods like the ones in those sci-fi movies Leo would watch on his scroll.

Pyrrha looked back at us, mainly at Jaune with this look of regret and worry.

"Pyrrha! Get to the pod" Ozpin yelled as he was messing with the computer in between the two cryopods.

Pyrrha looked at one last time before quickly getting into the pod as started closing shut.

"Mr. Arc and Mr. Talon if you'd like to help, you two can stand guard here." He said in a very serious tone.

Me and Jaune looked at each other then nodded as we both turned around weapons rised and ready.

We stood there for what felt like hours but we both snapped to reality after we heard Pyrrha start screaming in agonizing pain.

"Pyrrha!" Jaune yelled out as he ran to her pod.

"I'm so sorry." Ozpin said in a calm but regretful tone.

While all of us were distracted, we heard the sound of glass cracking. We all quickly turned around to see that woman that was in the first pod just got shot in the chest by an arrow.

The machine started malfunctioning and beeping loudly. I turned to where the arrow was shot just see cinder standing there with a bow in her hand.

Suddenly the that redish orange glow that surrounded the girl shoot out of pod and in to Cinder's body as she began to glow and actually levitate with what looked like wild fire spinning rapidly around her.

Jaune was the first to react running up to Cinder about to take swing at her with his sword, only to knocked back with a blast from Cinder.

Just when Jaune got blown back by Cinder a piece of the pod was sent flying at her just to have cinder just knock it away.

Thats when Cinder looked directly at me with an evil smirk on her just to get a fustrated glare from me.

"You must be Eagle, if I'm not mistaken, you were looking for a certain someone." She said me as I started hearing footsteps approaching from behind her.

I looked behind her and my eyes widen in shock when I saw Marrisa walking next to her with this emotionless expression on her face.

"What the hell is going on here Princess?! Why are you with her!?" I yelled practically demanding answers.

"Easy answer. She found her purpose. She is now a living weapon to be used by our leader." Cinder answered with a smug look on her face.

I looked at Marissa getting more and more angry but I also found myself tearing up.

"Princess, please tell me this just some kind of sick joke!" I yelled at her but she was still silent with the same damn expression.

"Say something damn it!" I yelled again. I was just seconds away from just shooting at Cinder with my Tommy gun but something hit me hard in the back of my head making me lose my balance and making vision blurry.

As I was starting to fall I felt something grab me. Before I completely lose consciousness I heard a faint "I'm so sorry."
