I was just staring in the water while hugging myself and fresh air touches my skin. Eventually, like the uncountable times it happened in my life, I was drowned again in the past.
10 years ago...
"Fate, just go with your ate ah."ako
I reminded my younger daughter while following them. Naglalaro kasi sila ngayon sa tabi ng dagat. We're in Palawan because we are having a one week vacation dahil dito gusto ni Andrea, Fate's elder sister. Pinagbigyan ng Daddy niya kasi she's an honor student when she graduated in preschool, but most especially, birthday kasi ngayon ni Fate.
"Ate!"Fate
"Fate, come here! Faster!"Andrea
"Ate, you're too fast! Just slow down! I cannot catch up with you!"Fate
I giggled while watching her who walks so cute while following her sister. They are so little yet looks so precious.
"Girls, slow down ah! Huwag kayong lalayo, ok?!"ako
Nagsimula na silang tumakbo at maghabulan kaya napangiti ako. May biglang yumakap sa akin mula sa likuran ko kaya lumingon ako, and it was my ever loving husband; my favorite person.
"How is it, hon?"Aga
I smiled.
"It's so great! This place is really breathtaking!"ako
He laughed and placed his chin on my shoulder. We just stayed like that while talking and enjoying the view until Aga spoke.
"Let's go, hon? Mags-sunset na. Where are the kids?"Aga
Kumalas siya ng yakap sa akin kaya sinimulan ng hanapin ng mga mata ko ang mga bata. Also, I couldn't hear them anymore.
"I'll call them. Andrea?!"ako
I shouted at pumunta sa tinakbuhan ng dalawang bata kanina. Sabi ko huwag lalayo, eh. Saan na kaya nagsuot ang dalawang makulit na 'yun.
"Andrea! Fate! Come on! Let's go back to the villa!"ako
Nakasunod lang sa akin si Aga at hinahanap din ang mga bata.
"Hindi kaya nakalayo na sila, hon? 'Teka, ipagtatanong k-"Aga
"Mommy! Daddy!"Andrea
I immediately looked to her and I opened my mouth when I saw her crying.
"Hey, my love. What happened? Why are you crying?"ako
Nilapitan kaagad namin siya ni Aga. I kneeled down in front of her then wiped her cheeks with worry on my face.
"What happened, sweetheart? Are you okay? Also, where's Fate?"Aga
I blinked because that's when I only realized that she's not with her younger sister. Tumayo ako nang maayos at hinanap si Fate sa paligid.
"Where's your sister, Andrea? Where's Fate? Naglalaro kayo kanina, 'di ba? Magkasama kayo. Did you leave her?"ako
She immediately shook her head then sobbed.
