Chapter 61
The drive to the hospital seemed like it took months. I had tears in my eyes the whole way, and I could tell Harry did too. Was she gonna be okay? Why did bad things always happen like this to me? When Harry finally pulled into the parking lot, I unlocked the door and raced inside before he was completely done parking. I ran through the automatic sliding glass doors, right up to a big desk.
"Mortin." I breathed to the short and stubby lady behind the desk.
"Styles." Harry corrected me, running up behind me and putting his hand on my shoulder. The lady have us a strange look, like we were crazy people.
"Cassidy Anne Styles!" I clarified, getting annoyed. She slowly nodded, and clicked a few buttons on her computer a few times.
"Room 213. And please don't-" Before she could finish, I was sprinting down the hall with Harry in tow. I ignored the elevator, and took the steps by two, out of breath and panting, just like Harry.
"For a girl who just had a C-section, and suffered memory loss, you sure can run." He breathed, catching his breath at the top of the stairs.
"Yeah, I kind of feel like I'm gonna pass out." I admitted, shaking my head, and slowing my pace down to a walk.
"You okay?" He asked, putting his hand on my lower back.
"Fine." I nodded, and pulled his hand to room 213.
When I opened the door, there were about seven doctors, all covered in blue from head to toe, and wearing gloves and masks. My heart sunk at the sight, and the tears came back.
"No visitors." A nurse said, walking over to us.
"That's my daughter." I defended.
"Miss Mortin, you must be doctor to be in here at this time."
"Well Cassidy's not a doctor!"
"C'mon Ariana, let's-"
"No!" I yelled, cutting Harry off, and dropping his hand. "The lady at the front desk said we could come up here, and so I-"
"Harry!" A familiar voice called from down the hall. Of course they saw him, he was only half way in the room, just standing in the doorway. Harry snapped his head towards the voice, and sighed.
"Is she okay?" The voice of Liam asked.
"I don't know, we can't see." Harry shrugged, and pulled the neck of his shirt up to his nose to wipe it.
"Are you allowed to go in?" Niall asked, and Harry shook his head.
"We will come find you guys when you can see her." The nurse said, and basically pushed us all outside into the long hall.
I stared back at the now closed door, and read the piece of paper dangling from it.
Styles, Cassidy Anne. I read.
Reaction to new medicine, throat closed, hives, stopped breathing-
Harry noticed what I was doing and pulled me away before I could read anything else. I slowly hugged him, wrapping my arms around his torso, and he laced his around my neck, putting his lips to the top of my head. I couldn't stop the tears from falling now, and I felt some drops fall on my head.
"Harry, what if she doesn't make-"
"Stop." He shook his head. "I don't wanna hear it."
"But-"
"I said I don't want to hear it." He repeated, and I squeezed him tighter.
"Ariana!" Someone called, and I let go of Harry, turning my head.
