Chapter 68
"One more store!" Gemma begged. We had decided to go shopping, a normal everyday activity for a teenager. But it felt so foreign to me now. The last time I had gone shopping was with Eleanor for baby clothes. I also definitely wasn't classified as normal.
"Fine." I gave in, and she dragged me inside another store.
When we were done with that store, we walked out and I was faced with a mother, pushing a baby in a stroller. Are you serious? Yes, she's dead, we get it. Every time I think of babies now, it just makes me think of death.
So is this it? I've been thinking about death a lot lately... does that mean that my life is almost over? These thoughts I've been having... I've never thought about something this intense before. Sure, I used to occasionally cut, but I never wanted to end my life.
But would I take it all back? Breaking up with Alex, moving to England, meeting Harry? I didn't really have a choice of where to move though. And Alex got intense before I even broke up with him. I definitely wouldn't take back meeting Harry, because even the rudeness at the beginning and all of the fights, they all led up to where we are now.
Baby-less.
No, getting married.
"You okay?" Gemma asked, snapping me from my thoughts.
"Yeah." I lied, and looked up, coming in contact with a maternity clothing store. Unbelievable.
"Oh." Gemma said, following my gaze. "Wanna grab a bite to eat before we go?" She tried to change the subject.
"I'm not hungry." I shook my head, and started walking towards the exit.
"Okay." She caught up to me, and opened the door. I thanked her, and walked outside, letting the warm air surround me.
She drove home quickly, and I thanked her again. I then walked back inside without another word, and heard laughing from the kitchen. I followed the noise, and saw Harry and Anne talking over tea.
"Ariana." Anne's eyes sparkled when she saw me. "I was just catching up with Harry here." She smiled at him, and he looked away.
"Don't act like you didn't enjoy it." Anne laughed.
"Where did you two go?" Harry asked, trying to change the subject.
"The mall." Gemma answered for me, as she waltzed into the kitchen area behind me. I was glad she was here, I liked having another girl my age to be around.
"What'd you buy?" Anne asked, eagerly.
"I bought a bunch of stuff." Gemma gestured to the bags in her hands.
"What did you get, love?" Harry asked, looking at my empty hands.
"Lunch." I lied, and Gemma didn't even bother to interject. I'm very glad she sort of understands me.
Gemma and Anne exchanged glances, and Harry looked at me, as if he was trying to see behind my lie. He could always tell when I was lying though, so he probably had already figured it out.
"I'm going for a walk." I dismissed myself, and walked out of the kitchen. I walked out the front door, and started down the sidewalk.
After walking for what seemed like hours, it was now dark. It hadn't really been hours, but I'm sure Harry was starting to grow worried.
This is all just insane. This whole Cassidy thing. I couldn't kill myself. Life was actually going well right now. Besides what had just happened to me, and what I've lost, I had Harry. And if I thought about it, that's all I really needed, right?
Wrong.
Before I could stop myself, I was turning into the street. I looked left and right, and stepped right in front of a car.
"Shit!" The driver yelled, and halted to a stop. No damage was done to me, of course, but the car behind the one who almost hit me smashed into the back of the one in front.
"Oh my god." I put my head in my hands, and shook my head. I'm going insane.
Sirens went off all too soon, and I rushed over to the driver who was hurt; the one in the front car. There was an airbag blocking his face, and an ambulance immediately pulled up, and took out a stretcher.
"Back away, miss." The doctors ordered as police cars pulled up. This was all my fault. This was all only my fault, and no one else's. I put someone else's life at risk because I'm so damn crazy and selfish. I-
Wait a minute. I knew that car. That car belonged to... no, this isn't happening.
"Liam!" I called as they carried his limp body onto the stretcher. I ran over to the ambulance, and looked at his bloody face before they shut the back doors, and sped off.
(sorry, I know this is a really short chapter... I'll do a double update tonight so more to come!! xx)
