We finally reached Auradon Prep and walked through the courtyard. We reached a grassy patch. "Ben, there you are," Jane said approaching him. "Cotillion's tonight, come here."

Evie and I walked to the side. Mal was included in the conversation. Once Mal was done, Evie and I grabbed her. "We need to talk," Evie said.

"Yeah," Mal replied.

"No!" Carlos interrupted.

"No?" I questioned.

"You guys are always going off in a huddle, whispering your girl talk stuff or whatever, and Jay and I are tired of it."

"I'm not," Jay added.

"We're your family too," Carlos said. "We've been through a lot together. We're not stopping that now, okay? Everyone sit," he said as he sat criss-cross on the ground. "Come on," he said as we all sat on the grass slowly. "You too," he mumbled to Dude. Once we were all seated, Carlos just looked up. "I don't know to start girl talk."

"What up?" Jay said in attempt to break the ice. This caused Evie and me to chuckle.

"Um, well," Mal began. "I'm a mess. I'm such a mess. I mean, six months ago, I was, you know, stealing candy from babies, and now everybody wants me to be this Lady of the Court, and I have no idea how to keep up the act."

"Then don't," Carlos replied.

"See? This was dumb," Jay said starting to get up.

"Maybe it wasn't," Evie said, and Jay began to sit back down. "We're always gonna be the kids from the Isle. I tried to forget it. I really tried, but those are our roots. And we all did what we had to do to survive. But it made us who we are, and we're never gonna be like anybody else here. And that's okay. That's okay."

"And we can't fake it," I added.

"No," Evie replied.

"Yeah, I mean, especially without my spellbook," Mal said.

"Mal," Carlos began. "If Ben doesn't love the real you, then he's not the one."

"I like that," I said.

"Give him a chance."

"I'm gonna make some changes to your dress," Evie told Mal. "And if you're up for it, only if you're up for it, it'll be waiting for you, okay?" After that, we all left leaving Mal alone in her thoughts.

As I was walking back to my dorm, someone stopped me. "Hey, Heather!"

"Aziz?" I said as I spotted him running towards me. "W-What are you doing?"

"I got these for you," he said handing me a bouquet of flowers: red roses.

"Oh Aziz," I said. "They're so pretty. W-Why did you this for me?"

"W-Will you go to Cotillion with me?" he asked.

"Wait. You're asking me to Cotillion?"

"Well, yeah."

"B-But I heard you were already planning on asking a girl to Cotillion."

"Yeah, that girl is you," he said.

Suddenly, it all clicked in my head. "Oh, well, see you at six?"

"Six it is," he said before walking away.

My excitement couldn't be contained, so I just began running to my dorm. Once I was there, Evie turned and looked at me in shock. She noticed the big smile on my face and the flowers. "What's got you so happy?"

"Guess who just asked me to Cotillion," I said happily.

"Did he really?" Evie asked in shock.

I nodded happily. "This is going to be the best night ever!"
