Chapter 20 || Fun and Fin

Dani's POV

Spending time with Romeo made me realise something. I can't wait around for Brooklyn to pull his shit together. He may be the love of my life but there are plenty of boys out there and I need a new one.

There's a very cute boy in my English class. I haven't seen him in a while though because it's summer but I'm sure I have his number somewhere.

I scroll through my contacts searching for the name Fin Skykes but it just doesn't come up. I decide to text Autumn to see if she has it, she's also in my English class and she's super social and popular.

To: Autumn

Hey bbz just wondering if u have Fin Sykes' number. I'm stuck on some English thing. Thanks - D xxx

I of course had to lie to her. I didn't want her getting all excited about me and Fin. I've only had like 2 conversations with him and it was about homework or something.

Within about 10 minutes Autumn texts me back,

Hey Dan ;) yah I do, idk why but anyways here u go, 07123456789. Xxx

Yay, I clap my hands together and add the number to my contacts. I decided to call right away but once I had pressed the green button I wasn't quite sure what to say.

He picked up on the second ring and I was shocked.

"Hello?" His thick voice brought pleasure to my ears. But he sounded tired. It is quite late, "umm who is this? I don't seem to have you on my contacts."

There was a moments silence before I realised that I needed to say to merging or this wasn't going to go anywhere.

"Oh uh yeah hey Fin. It's Dani, Autumn gave me your number"

He grunted but I'm not sure if it meant 'ok I get it, nice to speak to you' or 'ew ok I'll talk to you for five minutes because I feel sorry for you'

"Anyway I was wondering if you wanna come to Starbucks with me tomorrow?" I blurted out, a little too fast.

"Yeah why not? See you at 4." And with that he hung up the phone.

Fin has always been a little mysterious. He has firey, bright red hair and big dark eyes. He also always where's black, not like a goth, just black.

This date has cheered me up big time.
