"what the hell, maddie?" cassandra yelled.
"calm down, cass." i begged, walking away but she basically ran after me.
"your best friend is in my favorite boyband? why did you never told me?" she said, putting her hands on her hips.
"first of all, daniel isn't my best friend, he used to be. second of all, i did told you that a certain 'daniel seavey' used to be my best friend, but you weren't listening to me. which actually doesn't surprise me at all honestly. third of all, i didn't even know he was in that boyband." i explained as i filled a cup with tea.
"i'm always listening to you, maddie." she scoffed, rolling her eyes before taking the cup of tea and walking over to give it to the young lady who had ordered it.
it was my turn to scoff. i walked to the counter, ready to take the order of the curly haired boy in front of me. i first didn't recognized him but my eyes went wide when i realized who he was.
"hey! you're daniel's friend!" i exclaimed, rather loudly, gaining looks from the people around me.
"yes i am, and you're madison, right?" he asked, chuckling and i nodded.
"wait, i know your name...my best friend is a big fan of you... um, i know there is zach and i know you have a name that look-a-like...zach...jonah...corbyn...daniel...jack! you're jack!" i said and he smiled.
"right, i'm jack. anyway, i'm actually here to talk to you. is it your break soon?" he asked me and i nodded.
"meet me at this table, in 5 minutes." i said. jack nodded and walked over to the table. as soon as he walked away, cassandra walked back to me.
"you were talking to jack?" she exclaimed with excitement.
"yup." i answered as i removed my apron. i put my hair that used to be in a ponytail in a bun and arranged myself a little.
"why are you so lucky?" my best friend groaned and i laughed.
-"you'll meet them one day, i promise you. ciao." i kissed her cheek and walked over to jack's table and sat down in front of me.
he hadn't even realized i was sitting on the chair, right in front of me because he was so concentrated on looking at something on his phone. i saw that he was on twitter, just replying to some tweets. i was now so interested in seeing what he was doing, that i didn't realized he was staring right back at me.
"having fun?" he asked, making me jump back.
"sorry." i said, turning red and he laughed. god, he had a cute laugh.
"it's nothing." he said. "anyway, as you may already know, i'm here undercover to talk to you about daniel because apparently i'm the best one to talk to people just after zach, corbyn and jonah." he explained and i nodded.
"okay, what about daniel?" i asked and he took a sip of his coffee.
"well, first of all i want you to know that daniel really likes you. like he had been waiting for you to give him his second chance since forever. and really forever. i'm telling you it was ; madison this, maddie that, my best friend did that too, she was amazing, i miss maddie so much : it was that everyday so i'm, and the rest of the other boys in why don't we, are really happy that he finally had the chance to resolve this whole drama between you two." jack told me and i nodded. "but you're the best one to know that but, daniel is really...fragile. and we really want to make sure you want hurt him in any way." jack said and i nodded once again.
"jack, you and all the boys should know that i won't do anything to hurt daniel. it's already been 1 month since this whole friend thing started and nothing wrong happened. everything is amazing and it will stay like that. you guys are so sweet to care about him like that but nothing will happen, i can promise you that i won't hurt him." i smiled.
"great." jack smiled back to me. "by the way you're really cute, daniel is lucky." he added and i chuckled.
"thank you, jack. you're really cute too." i said and he blushed.
"see ya." he waved at me before walking out of the coffee shop where i worked.

the first minutes were practically me freaking me out, but i then eventually calmed myself and i was ready to have a normal conversation with my idol.
"(...) you know, daniel, madison is the best girl on earth. i mean, you could look for all the girls in the world and maybe think you got 'the one' but she'll never be maddie. because maddie is even better than 'the one' you'll meet, understood?" i explained and daniel nodded slowly, looking quite confused.
"but-but—" he started off but i cut him off.
"there's no but, daniel! maddie is precious, you have to take care of her and if you don't, if you break her in any type of way, i promise you that i won't even wait, i won't even hesitate : i'll chop your head off and then bury you half dead, half alive in a really dark forest, so then you'll die in pain and eaten by some wild animal." threatened him. by the look on his face, i could assume he was pretty scared and i smiled at him.
"i won't hurt, maddie, i promise, he answered, his voice shaking a little.
"well, that's great. now, all you have to do is keep your promise." i answered before taking my backpack and getting up. "i'll see you soon, daniel." i said and he nodded.
i left the store i was in, humming 'these girls' as i felt daniel's eyes on me. that boy better be careful or he's a dead man, literally.
