i hated how sweaty my palms were right now. i was fiddling with my fingers and biting my nails nervously, a nervous habit of mine. i clicked on the button in the elevator so i could go to the fourth level. the door finally opened and i inhaled deeply. here goes nothing.
i walked towards the office. i knocked on the door multiple times. the door opened, showing my manager, david.
"hey daniel, what brings you here? are the other boys here with you?" he asked, looking behind my shoulder.
"uh no, it's just me today." i answered and he let me in. he sat on a chair behind a desk and invited me to sit down too. it felt like i was in high school and was called by the director.i chuckled at this and spun on the chair while david was looking at something on his phone.
"so, why are you here?" he asked as he turned his attention to me.
" i know that what i'm going to say will maybe change everything and that you'll probably say no to my proposition but, here i go." i sighed, "um, i want to break up with meghan." i quickly said.
"what?" david said.
"i don't want to do this, david. i like someone else, for real. and i'm sorry but i don't want to keep this fake girlfriend thing, i don't want meghan to really start to have feeling for me and break her heart later." i said.
"but daniel, you started dating like two weeks ago, imagine what people are going to say about you! it will ruin your reputation!" he exclaimed.
" i could keep my new relationship secret." i said and he shook his head.
"you'll get caught one day and people are going to say your a cheater, this is not a good idea." david protested.
"please david, i can't keep doing this. by doing all of this fake stuff, i'm actually hurting the person that i really love." i said.
"who even is that person?" david asked me.
"her name's madison, she's my childhood friend. we started to hangout again like 2 months ago." i answered.
