"what is up with you, maddie?" daniel asked me for the hundredth time and i rolled my eyes.
"nothing is wrong." i snapped and the whole room went silent. i could feel the confused look on the boys faces.
"someone's on her period." zach mumbled and i glared at him.
"hey zach, did you saw me open a pad today? did you saw me with a pad or a tampon today?" i asked him.
"no bu—" he started of, confused, but i interrupted him.
"then stop assuming stupid stuff." i answered. the room was once again silent. i sighed and looked back at my phone screen.
"maddie." daniel said, making me look up from my mobile device. "can...can i talk to you just for a sec'?" he asked.
"if you're going to ask me again what is wrong with me, well i won't answer." i said as i emphasized on the 'again'.
"no it's not about that." he said and i sighed again before getting up and following him out of the kitchen.
daniel didn't pronounce a word. is he serious? he stared at me from up to down and it was his turn to sigh this time.
"what?" i asked him. "what do you want?" i asked him again and it looked like he snapped out of his thoughts.
"why-why are you mad? i mean, i know you maddie. and right now, i know that's something is off and i want to know what it is so i can help you, maybe i could make you feel better." he stammered.
"i'm doing fine, daniel. F-I-N-E. what is wrong with all of you today? you're acting like i was the one who was acting weirdly when you and the boys were the one who has been asking me since this morning if i was alright." i responded, crossing my arms.
"but it's because were worried about you, madison." he replied.
"but why are you worried? why does all of sudden you become worried about me? you weren't like that yesterday, and the day before." i said.
"you've been acting strange lately, so i was worried. you didn't want to talk to me so i had to bring the boys in. if i'm doing it, it's only because i care about you, maddie. i truly do." he said.
