my heart pounded as i walked towards the room where meredith was staying. i knocked on the door and a nurse opened.

"hi, are you madison hills?" she asked me and i nodded.
"yes i am." i said.
"you can get in." she smiled, letting me in.

there she was. my older sister, sitting on the bed, a small baby in her arms. greg was next to her, smiling to the small, cute human next to him. i felt myself tear up as i walked to my new niece.

"oh god." i said as i kneeled down to have a good look at the baby.
"her name's charlotte. charlotte natalie phillips-hills." meredith said to me as i touched the littlest hands.
"you named her after mom?" i asked her and she nodded.

"well, i took the natalie from her first name. charlotte was just a cute name, greg and i thought about." she answered.
"she's so cute." i squealed. the newborn opened her eyes, that were a mixed of green and blue, her mom's and dad eyes. "hi charlotte." i whispered.

meredith chuckled and held the baby closer to her.

"is she alright? i mean, physically and mentally." i questioned my sister, kind of afraid of her answer. meredith shared a look with greg before turning to me.

"she's fine, for now. doctor made her pass all kind of tests and miraculously, everything seems fine for now." meredith explained. "my baby girl had to go through so much but she's good now."

i smiled as i stared at the cute baby. it was true. it was only her third day on the earth and she had already been through a lot. i held her small soft hands and smiled. meredith and greg shared again at each other weirdly.

"okay, maddie." meredith started off. "i wanted to tell you this when daniel will be there but i can't wait anymore so here we go. i want you and danny to be her godparents, only if you'd like too." she said and i showed her the wildest smile i ever did.

"oh my god, is that even a question? yes, yes, yes, i want this little girl to be my goddaughter!" i shrieked and meredith giggled.
"thank you so much, you'll ask daniel for me?"
"sure." i answered.

then, i remembered what had just happened between me and daniel earlier today. maybe i should go check on him, he didn't look alright when i left him. i felt a knot in my stomach and i sighed.

"i'll be right back. i just need to freshen up a little." i said, before going out of the room and walk to the nearest bathroom. i needed to calm down a little and think too.
