4. It's a Sport
When people say horse back riding isn't a sport. Like no. Stop. Just because we don't have a ball to throw or kick around with a team doesn't mean it's any easier. It's actually 10 times harder. I understand how difficult other sports can be, how dangerous they can be. I get it where in football, you have 200+ pound men running towards you. However, our team consists of 2. Your partner is an animal that you have to communicate soecifically, without words. You have to get a 1200 pound creature to do exactly what you want when you want it. 30 minutes of trotting burns as much calories as 5 miles of running. So don't call it easy. Don't say we just sit there. We spend hours upon hours working harder than many people to get our horses to do the simplest of tasks. I'd like to see you get on even the easiest horse and try to get it to do what you want, without falling off or looking like a fool. Good luck because unless you practice at least 5 days a week for 4 hours each like most of us, you won't be able to do it. It's a sport, if you have a problem with that, take it up with the Olympics.
