19. Bits

Since it seems like today's main topic has been bits, I think I may give my thoughts on them.
The one thing I suggest, so we can end the fight about to happen, is to not bash a (specific) bit and say it's cruel until you have done a ton of research on it. Which means, reviews of the bit, studying the areas of pressure, videos of horse in said bit, calling producers and buyers and interviewing them, going to a scientific pov, or actually trying it out. Until then, you really can't bash or uplift and praise a bit. Agreed there are harsh ones out there, and there are some nice accommodating mild ones. In the end it's all about trying a bit and seeing 1.) Your horse likes it and 2.) That it's not causing pain. Some really nice soft bits, cal look really harsh, where as some really soft looking bits can e very harsh. So before putting out personal beliefs (be it they might be true or not) be a smart and mature equestrian and do some thorough research. Do not, be it you are for or against bits, judge someone based on what they use, bur rather HOW they use it. Become educated and keep an open mind and I promise our little world would be a lot more peaceful and happy. That's all I have to say.
