29. Their Body

When we get on a hrose's back, we are in HER space. It is not our right to be there - it is a privilege and a gift. If the horse does not blindly obey you when you are riding, it is not your right to force her into giving up control of her body - it is not your body, it is HERS. It is not acceptable to make her bend to your will through the use of pain.
We do not truly have the right to get angry at the horse for not giving another being complete and unquestioning control of her OWN body. We have no place getting angry when the hore disapproves of riding. . No one has the right to take total control over your body without permission. When the horse "fights" the rider, she is saying that you do not have that permisson. No one has the right to use your body however they would like, expecting you to listen to their every command even if you say no.
No one has the right to see your body as a vehicle to drive, deciding how and when you should move, correcting or punishing any wrong step you take.
No one has the right to use and control your body has their own personal gain -
And netiher do you.
Your body is YOUR body. Your likes is YOUR life - no one else's.
The horse's body is HER body.
You have no right to the body of a horse.
Horses are desperate for us to remember this.
Their presence in our lives is a gift - a gift not to be abused, but so often is.
Horses need us to wake up and understand.
