16. Not Just for Riding
All credit to @freedomofthehorse on instagram. These are her words, not mine.
One thing that I here people say a lot is "riding is the only thing they can do, or want to do with their horses." I absolutely hate it when I hear that. There is so much more to these beautiful creatures that this, and it is hardly noticed. I have been shown how much you can do with your horse, without feeling the need to ride. I rarely ride anymore, and when I do it is only for a couple of minutes. This is because I have found so much more on the ground. Riding isn't at all everything and I hate that people would believe this. It shows the ignorance that the human race shows towards horses. That we use them as machines. I am so glad that I am not apart of these people anymore. That I am out of that ignorant crowd, and now I actually have my own beliefs. And strong beliefs, at that. I feel like I am worth something within myself and in the eyes of my horses. I have dreams that one day all equestrians will see this truth, and will act on it.
