"We should start at the beginning, where we meet at least." Tom suggested as he placed his tea cup down on the table beside mine. "Sounds wonderful." I smiled to myself as I flipped the pages to the beginning. "Would you mind if I play a little music? It won't be anything with words." I asked him as I skimmed the page for my lines. "Sure, that would be helpful actually." Tom grinned. I nodded, turning on my phone and playing my soft jazz playlist. It was calming, helpful when your mind is full and running around with nonsense. "Beautiful." Tom commented. "What? Me or the music?" I smirked confidently. Tom laughed and shrugged his shoulders. "Both." I blushed at his compliment. "Okay, so our lines begin in the middle, where we meet and all that." Tom directed me to our lines. I nodded, thanking him for his help. "Alright, my line first.." He mumbled. Somehow, I felt like we had entered another realm. Like we were in the world of Cassidy and Noah.
"Miss?" Tom called, looking up at me. I stood up, rushing over to him. "Yes sir, I'm so sorry. What would you like?" I asked frantically. Tom chuckled lightly at me. "No problem, you're fine. Can I get a scotch on the rocks please?" Tom smiled at me kindly, my heart fluttering with the flickering emotions in his eyes. "Of course sir, right away." I smiled back, turning around and pretending to be making his drink. "How long have you been working here?" Tom asked from behind me. "Only a few months." I answered quickly. "Are you liking it so far?" He questioned me further. "Umm, it's kinda' hectic, really. But it pays pretty well, so I can't complain." I giggled as I turned back around, pretending to be holding a glass. I set it on an imaginary counter, wiping my hands on my shirt. "Why do you need to work in a crummy place like this? Can't you get a better job? You seem like a person who could get a job anywhere they'd like." Tom complimented as he raised an eyebrow at me. I laughed to myself, rubbing my temple in frustration. "The world isn't that simple, I'm afraid. If I could get a job anywhere else, I'd surely go for it." I smiled sadly at him, his eyes burning a hole through me with the stare he had. He reached over and grabbed his tea cup, taking a swig of it. He set the cup back down, his eyes never leaving me. "Well, how good are you at being an assistant? I've been needing an assistant to help me in my office, to get it organized and everything. Just to take some of the weight off of my shoulders." Tom sighed as he smiled. "Well, what do you do?" I asked curiously as I furrowed my eyebrows. "I'm a CEO of my dad's company. He just passed away recently, leaving me everything. His company, his money, his life, basically." Tom's smile turned sad. "Oh. I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked." I wrung my hands together nervously. "No, no you're fine." He waved me off, grabbing the tea cup and taking another sip. "It seems we're getting to know each other quickly, but I don't know your name." He chuckled deeply. "Cassidy Redwood, sir." I smiled at him, pulling out my hand and waiting for him to return the shake. "Pretty name for a pretty lady. I'm Franklin, Noah Franklin." Tom smirked as he placed his hand in mine, shaking it lightly. Before I could pull my hand back, he moved our hands to where mine was lightly on top of his. He slowly leaned down, kissing my hand softly. The jazz music that surrounded us played perfectly to the emotions that were flowing with our characters. I blushed a light pink color, my whole face and body feeling like it had warmed up about 40 degrees higher. He let my hand go, picking up the tea cup again, drinking the rest of it. "Here's my card. Give me a call and I'll set up a date for you to come by my office, if you're up for the job, that is." Tom winked as he pretended to slide a card and the money to pay for the drink onto the imaginary counter. "Have a lovely evening, Miss Redwood." Tom smiled a bright smile before turning around and taking a few steps away. "Have a good night as well, Mister Franklin.." I whispered sweetly, smiling to myself and the scene we had just did.
"Well done! That was a good practice of scene 1, Miss Redwood." Tom clapped. I curtsied jokingly, Tom laughing at me. "You did well too, Mister Franklin." I smirked playfully as I clapped for Tom. It was his turn to bow. I giggled at him, his smile never leaving his face. "So, should we end that for today?" Tom asked as he sat down on my bed, falling backwards and spreading his arms out to get comfortable. "I believe so. We did well for our first day." I walked over, laying down beside him, my head resting on his arm. He looked over at me, a tired smile growing on his face. I turned to look at him as well, another blush creeping onto my cheeks. "What?" I whispered. "Nothing. I'm just tired and comfortable. Also, you're really warm, and it's making me more sleepy." Tom laughed softly. I smiled tiredly as well, feeling his body heat lull me to sleep like it did when we fell asleep together last time. "Can you spend the night?" I looked up at him with hopeful and pleading eyes. He frowned slightly, sadness taking over him. "No, Willow is expecting me home pretty soon. Maybe next time." He sadly smiled at me. I nodded my head in understanding, my heart deflating in jealousy.
All of a sudden, Tom's phone started ringing. He sat up slowly, moving his arm carefully so he didn't disturb me too much. "Speak of the devil." He chuckled nervously. I sat up, looking at his lit up phone screen. Willow's name and picture was the first thing I saw, so I threw myself back down on the bed, laying by myself. "Hello?" Tom answered the phone. I heard a muffled voice come from the speakers. "Yeah, mhm. We just finished, actually." Tom looked back at me and my tired form. I heard muffled anger come from the voice on the other end. "Yeah, yeah. I'm on my way home right now. Bye baby." Tom tapped the end calm button, the room now full of silence. I felt Tom get up, so I opened my eyes. "I gotta' go. I'll leave my script here with yours so I don't have to take it everywhere. Knowing me I might forget it." Tom laughed quietly. I nodded my head slightly, indicating that I was listening. "I had fun, I really did. I can't wait for tomorrow." He smiled, trying to get me to smile. I nodded my head again, not really caring. Suddenly, he leaped at me, falling on top of me. He started tickling me profusely as a devilish smile was plastered to his face. "I already told you, you need to smile more." Tom teased as he continued to tickle me. I was in a laughing fit, uncontrollably giggling to the point where I started to cry. "TOM, STOP, PLEASE!" I begged him as I laughed. "Are you gonna' smile now?" He raised an eyebrow at me. "YES, YES I PROMISE!" I squirmed around, trying to get away from his grip. "Okay." He stopped tickling me. I breathed in, catching my breath that was knocked out of me. Now, we were just inches apart, our faces breathing softly on one another's. Our bodies were pressed together as his hands were left on my hips, holding onto them. We both started leaning in subconsciously, our lips were centimeters apart. We were just about to kiss, when he suddenly got up, tugging at his collar and laughing nervously. "I better get going." He said as he looked at me, a sad smile on his face. "Yeah, yeah you should." I smiled an even more sad smile back. He nodded, turning around and leaving my room, closing the door softly. I sighed, closing my eyes in frustration. The jazz music slowly came to an end, as well as my happiness. I wiped my face with my hands, trying to calm my heart. My heart is never really calm when I'm around him..
