"I'm Mackenzie, Kenz for short" I say getting up , fixing myself up and keeping my head down
"I'm Brandon, nothing for short i guess" he chuckles and it made me smile for once today, I smilled I really did.

"Well nice to meet you" I sniff smiling at him
"Now why is a lovely girl like youself crying?" he asks comforting me
"A mistake, that I keep making"
"How about when this mistake happens again you tell me" he throws his bag over his shoulders and takes a post-it-note out of his pocket
"Need a pen?" I chuckle watching him struggle to find one
"Yes please" He laughs and I give it to him, he passes me his number and goes back to class.
I wait till the bell rings, I wasn't going to go back and sit next to that jerk so I waited and then went to the gang's lunch table.
"KENZIEEEEEEEEE" they all say hugging me making me laugh a little
"We frikin missed you hoe" Lexi blurts out
"I know we saw you before yesterday but I CANT HELP IT" Brynn giggles
"I'M HUNGRY PEOPLE SO CAN WE GO GET FOOD ORRR WHAT?" Lauren yells at us making us laugh a lot more
I look over to John's table and see him and Sophia sitting down together holding hands, well then.. it really is true. I got get my mind off this, like doing something like hmm.. SINGING
Or maybe not , no definately not.
We finish off lunch and the bell rings so we all go to class, I've got Theatre so lucky me I do NOT have this lesson with John
"Kenz come on!" Saryna calls out pulling my arm, it's going to be a long fifth period.
*AFTER CLASS*
I walk towards the exit when Mr Matthews taps me on the shoulder and tell me to come into his classroom
"Miss Ziegler, you have over two week's work to catch up with so I'm setting you up with a tutor" He says calmly like trying to be soothing with his voice which let me tell you WASN'T WORKING
"BUT SIR I-"
"No but's Ziegler, I'm setting you up with Rowland since he's top of my advanced class"
"Rowland? Who's that?" I question and I recognisable voice comes out of the corner
"That would be me Miss Ziegler" Brandon chuckles coming into the classroom
"Oh hello stranger" I giggle and walk towards him
"Well them go the library, your sessions are 1 hour each day mkay? I'm being legit" Mr Matthews sometimes attempts to be cool, he really isn't
"Sir.. no don't do that" We both laugh walking out and into the library, we both take our seats and he begins to tutor me on the work meant for this session. We finish up with 10 minutes to spear so we decide to get to know each other a little better
"So let's do quick five, like in Everything Everything" he suggests
"Yea sure"
"Fav: book, hoobie, instrument, friend and subject" he says and waits for me to answer
"Mmm , I'd say: The fault in our stars, The guitar, Brynny and Lauren I cant choose, definately music" I chuckle and he looks at me
"I thought you would've said me for favourite friend" He jokes and we both laugh
"For me I'd say: Everything Everything, The drums, Johnny Orlando-" I swear to you my heart stopped there, I couldn't hear anything. He's best friends with Johnny?! UM..
"Kenzie," he waves his hands in front of my face "hello?"
"I'm sorry" I say snapping out of it , this shouldn't disturb our friendship and it wont
"Anyways I've heard you sing before so how about you enter the talent show?" he says giving me a flyer, I look at it and wonder if I really should come.

"We're hosting, me and the tech club so I think you should audition"
"Mmm I don't know.." I stutter and look down at my feet, singing reminds me of Johnny but perhaps I have a way to make it remind me of myself and not him.
"Text me once you do figure out" he says packing up his stuff and pointing to the sign up sheet outside the library doors, I nod and walk home
I kick a few pebles on my path and notice that they're all coming from the park, but thats strange since nobody goes there. I decide to take a look so I run over to there and see John sitting on the swings swaying up and down saying things to himself. I hide behind the trees and listen to what he seems to be saying
"Why do you gotta be such an idiot Johnny , you could've told her everything and it would have all been done and over with" he says talking to himself
"Now I'm talking to myself,coz I lost the one person who would talk to me in this exact place" he pushes his hair back and I look down slightly , so he does miss me? But he told me to go? I thought us girls were suppost to be the confusing ones.
I get out of my hiding spot but just as I do John yells something o-out, something that I thought I'd n-never hear coming from him. I-
"I HATE YOU MACKENZIE ZIEGLER-" he yells out, I freeze in that spot and tear myself up. I'm doing it, I run out of there as fast as I could and go home , the one place where I really belong. Or do I?
