CHAPTER 9. REVELATIONS.
**(I have included inside this chapter, magnificent Native American drum music. It is long enough to be able to listen the entire part of Caspian in this chapter, if you so please...you may begin the song now.)**
CASPIAN.
I was awake, but not in the mortal realm. That much was certain. Colors of fuchsia and aqua floated in whiffs past me in lazy swirls. A thumping of a drum droned quietly in the background. From somewhere within me, I knew it belonged to something quite old. The call of the ancients. The wise ones who have seen. Everything around me seemed insubstantial, no walls, ceiling or floors. I just drifted about upright, but carried on, as if walking on concrete. How very odd.
Well, I most certainly am not dead, for heaven's sake angels don't die!
"Ha...ha...ha"
All of a sudden, I heard a slow, lazy giggle, from what sounded like, a small child right behind me. When I turned around, there was nothing. Just aqua and fuchsia wisps. I stood, confused-if only for a few moments-when I noticed far, far ahead, the fuchsia and aqua rippled and from within sprouted a rich and warm sienna.
It started out minuscule, and as the backgrounds drumbeat thumped, and thumped on, the color steadily grew, ever so slightly... Even more odd, within the sienna that stained-what children fancy as cotton candy colors-was born a new, most out of sorts color. A golden rose, shimmering and free. It tethered out of the sienna, like a jellyfish floating about freely, in its salty, aquatic home. Once again, I heard the small child's laughter...
I whirled around, trying to catch a glimpse of the little one, all the way around I had spun, nothing. What is this? I turned back -to what I thought was my original front facing position- and there stood a small little girl. She had thick, chocolate brown hair, that hung in soft waves and curls. She stood gazing at me with large brown eyes that mimicked those precious moments figurines-I know this because Samantha collected them. Within those sweet delicate eyes, held a wisdom to match time. An all knowing look swirled peacefully inside them.
She looked like a Chayahuitas child, but from long, long ago, maybe even Inca born. No, perhaps even before... The young child nodded in agreement, and soon it became clear to me, this was no child. It also became quite clear my thoughts were no longer just my own. The young child giggled sweetly and nodded in agreement once more.
My attention was taken from the young one and back to the growing colors in the distance. They had grown much in size, since my attention had been diverted, and their shape had changed as well. Three forms floated closer towards where the young wise one, and I stood, and as they approached I could now see, the shapes had taken on an almost human form. Almost, but not quite, they were incorporeal. They shimmered in and out of the traditional human shape, almost like it was hard to contain themselves... like they would rather be all around at once, like mist.
"You are quite keen, winged one." A loud, booming, deep bass voice sounded inside my head. "We know what you seek, but winged one, can you accept the cost?" A feminine-wind chime-like voice sauntered its way within my head. The voice was not deep, and loud, but buoyant and free. "Be careful what you ask for, you shall receive such, and more..." The young, old one, sang in a beautiful sing song voice and swayed back and forth on her tiny feet, as if dancing to the music of her own voice.
The little girl then stopped dancing and spoke to me, "Please forgive my manners, this is Shesha, Uukenay, and Nett. She said as she took her small hands together in praying fashion and pointed to each of the figures behind her as she sounded off each individual's names. When she was done, and with a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts, she walked to me held, out her delicate, tiny, hand and introduced herself. " My name is Nayu. I'm so very pleased to meet you Caspian."
