Note: this saiouma one shot has nothing to do do with the main story. I just had this idea and had no where else to write it.
Saihara's POV:
My name is Shuichi Saihara, and I have an undying love for my friend Kaito Momota. It all started when he invited me to train with him, he was so kind. I instantly fell in love. Today I think I will tell him how I feel. even if he doesn't love me back, I can't take not telling him.
The night arrived, so I went out to training. My mind was flooded with different ways to confess my love.
When I reached Kaito I was pleasantly surprised to see that Harukawa-San wasn't there. "Kaito-Kun, I need to tell you something." I spoke my cheeks must have been turning pink, as I fiddled with my hands.
"What is it, Shuichi?" Momota questioned, smiling at me. That smile was so beautiful that it melted my heart.
"I know this isn't the best scene to tell you this, but I think, no. I know I'm on love with you. I want to escape with you, and wake up every morning to your warmth." I would have continued talking but I was cut off by Kaito.
"Oh, you do? Well, sorry I'm in love with Harumaki." Well that explained a ton. My eyes did burn, but so did my throat.
"Oh, it's fine I'm just going to go." Once I was out of sight, I ran to my room. Instead of crying, I started coughing. When the coughing stops I look down to see petals splattered with blood. I knew what this disease was, it was the hanahaki disease. A disease when you love someone and they don't return the feelings. I examined the flowers closer and realized that they were was flowers. Wax flowers represented lasting love and patience.
Many days had passed, and nobody had discovered my unfortunate situation, which was for the better.
Ouma-Kun was pestering me, when I started to cough. I fell to the floor and I could tell I was dying. In fact I would be dead in a mater of minutes.
No soon then I'd fallen did Ouma-Kun drop to the floor and start rubbing my back. "Are you okay Ouma-Kun?" He exclaimed in a terrified tone.
"I...I'm f...fine," I was interrupted multiple times, Do to my coughing.
"No.... No No!" Ouma-Kun screamed and I didn't know why. "Why didn't you tell anyone you had hanahaki disease!" Ouma-Kun yelled at me. He probably would have slapped me if I wasn't dying.
"Why do you care," My coughing stopped just enough to make my words audible.
"Because I love you! it's obvious you don't return my feelings, but I will do anything in my power to keep you from dying, my beloved Shuichi." Kokichi pulled me into a hug.
I suddenly felt different, then I started coughing again. This coughing felt different then the previous coughing. Once I finished coughing I pulled myself away from Ouma-Kun. I stared at the ground in disbelieve.
Ouma-Kun also started, but he spoke up. "Those flowers are Sedums, right?" He questioned.
"I think so, but I don't know what they mean." I looked at Ouma-Kun he had a small smile on his face.
"They're a cure for broken and wounded hearts." I was shocked that he knew what they meant.
"I didn't take you for one to know the meaning of flowers." I told Ouma-Kun.
"I'm not, I just received Sedums once." The smile on his face grew. I was happy, calm, and genuine.
"When, did you get sedums?" I questioned the shorter male.
"When my parents died my aunt she gave me a bouquet of: roses; love, sedums; healing of hearts, and orchids; strength." I could tell that those three flowers meant so much to Ouma-Kun.
"Hey, Kokichi?" Ouma-Kun seemed a little surprise that I was using his fist name.
"Yes, my beloved Shuichi?" Kokichi's use of my fist name made me blush, or maybe it was the beloved part.
"You did manage to save me." I smiled at him.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Ouma-Kun asked confused. He tilted his head in the cutest way when he spoke.
"I...I think I l...love you instead of Kaito, Kokichi I love you." When I finished my sentence I was tackled into a hug.
"I love you so much, Shuichi-Chan! I'm so glad I was able to meet you." His happiness was contagious.
"I'm glad to, Kokichi." I drew small circles on the middle of Kokichi's back. Before I was able to process everything that was happening Kokichi leaned in and kissed me. The kiss was passionate yet sweet, it was perfect.
I hope you enjoyed this short story about saihara's journey through hanahaki disease.
