3 Months Later

"Why is she still asleep?" I ask the doctor.

"She's been shot.. A few times actually."

"No shit."

"Look ma'am."

"No you listen to me.. You wake her up.. She better not die."

"Why do you care so much?"

"That's none of your business."

"It kinda is.. You come in here every day.. Demanding answers and I'm not going to keep..."

"Waverly." I hear Nicole say.

"Nicole?"

"You're here."

"Of course I am."

"I'm sorry."

"I ugh.. I just wanted to make sure you was okay.. You've been out for a while."

"A few days?"

"Try a few months."

"Was I shot?"

"Yes."

"How many times?"

"Let's not get into that right now.. You need to rest."

"Rest?" Nicole ask.

"Yes ma'am."

"I just woke up.. I need to speak to Waverly.. Alone please."

"Yes ma'am."

"Thank you." Nicole says to the doctor before he leaves. "Waverly?" Nicole whispers.

"Make it fast.. I'm about to leave."

"You're still mad?"

"Damn right I am."

"Waverly you need to know that it wasn't sex.. I would not do that to you."

"Oh yeah.. Then what was it?"

"Come in." Nicole say.

"Hey Nicki how are you?"

"Fantastic." I say.

"Waverly?" Nicole whispers.

"We were just talking about you." I say.

"I can come back." She says.

"No stay.. I was just leaving."

"Waverly I.."

"No Nicole.. We're done.. For real this time.. Bye.. And I'm glad you're okay."

"Waverly don't leave me.. Please.. Not again."

"Bye Nicole Haught." I say walking out the door.

"Waverly?" Nicole says in a low tone voice and I close the door.
