Although Ashley was still laughing when he pulled up to the door from the garage to pick her up, he knew she was running on nothing but adrenaline. He stepped out of the car and opened the door for her as several flashes simultaneously went off. Accustomed to these types of ambushes, he calmly tucked in the length of her dress, closed the door, and walked to get in on the driver's side.

"What was that?" she asked.

"Exactly what you've been attempting to avoid."

She sighed deeply and looked out the side window. "I want to talk about this but not tonight. I am so excited about the award, but I can't even call my aunt and uncle. I don't know what to do with all this energy."

Her voice was husky with excitement, her hands moved expressively as she talked, and she repeatedly touched Harry's arm when she spoke.

"I hate to be the downer here, but you probably need to try to get some rest. Have you taken all of your medication?"

"I did before you came to pick me up."

"Good."

"I cannot believe it! Harry, the pinot noir! Of all the wines the team thought might have a chance, that was not one of them! I am so incredibly happy for them, for my family! Harry," she said lacing her fingers through those of his free hand resting on the console "we are going to be able to offer an award-winning Russo French wine for the holiday season!"

Her enthusiasm was infectious. He glanced at her and gently squeezed her fingers between his. "I am truly, truly happy for you, sweetheart."

"Thank you, Harry."

"You didn't eat much at dinner. Would you like to get something?"

"The hotel offers 24-hour room service. Would you like to come up and order something to eat?"

This was everything I'd hoped for. What if she only wanted that though? What if she was just being nice? When should I have the conversation with her?

"Did you happen to bring a change of clothes?" she asked.

His heart jumped at the implication. "I always have a change of clothes."

"I would like to change as soon as we get upstairs."

"Of course," he said. Ashley noticed what seemed to be disappointment in his voice.

"We can talk over our meal," she said raising his hopes.

"You understand those pictures that were taken will be in some form of media by morning?"

"Yes, thank you for staying so calm and attempting to keep me as shielded from the lens as you could."

"I've had a bit of experience."

"He pulled into the hotel circle turning his keys over to the valet who had already opened the door for Ashley. Harry reached for her hand and helped her step down from the Range Rover.

When Harry and Ashley walked in, concierge nodded in acknowledgement to Harry. He hoped Ashley would be okay with him having used his name to have all he'd requested to be delivered to her room.

He stood back as she opened the door to her suite. Several bouquets of mixed white flowers had been placed strategically around the room. The chocolates and chilling champagne were on the coffee table set with glasses, small plates and napkins. He wasn't sure whether he was confident about the cliched chocolate-covered strawberries, but several quick breathes indicated she was affected by his gesture.

"Did you do this?" she asked turning to look at him.

"I did."

"It's all so beautiful."
