James' p o v

We got back in the car after lunch and I turned on the ignition.

"So where are we off to now?" She asked. I have no idea.

"Urrhm do you know when you need to be back?"

"I'll text Steve and ask." She pulled her phone out and text Steve, he replied after a few minutes.

"Grace is going round her boyfriends so it doesn't really matter. Whenever you get bored of me I guess!"

"Well you might be staying with me all day then." She lent her head against the headrest in my car and laughed. Watching her laugh made me happy.

"Hey do you wanna come back to mine?" She stopped laughing and looked at me with a smile.

"Sure."

Lou's p o v

James pulled into his driveway. His house was so cute! He ran out of the car and opened my door for me. I hopped out and he closed the door behind me. Walking to the front door, James pulled out his key out of his pocket and for some reason I was extremely nervous. There was something about going to his house that did make me nervous, I don't know why. I found myself biting my lip. He unlocked the door and let me inside.

"No ones home, it's just us two." He said while walking into his kitchen. I relaxed a little.

"You have a lovely home! Wow!" I said while looking around. It was far nicer that any of the houses I've ever lived in. This one actually looked like a home. It was perfectly sized and cute and cosy.

"Thankyou," he said smiling. "I really like it."

There were a few seconds of an awkward silence.

"Sooo...." I said breaking it.

"Soo..." He copied. I laughed a little. He suddenly clapped his hands together.

"Oh I have something to show you. Wait here." He ran up the stairs, I had no idea what he wanted to show me but I was eager to find out.

He came down a few seconds later carrying the most beautiful acoustic guitar. Using the strap, he slung it over his shoulder, grabbed a bottle of lemonade and some glasses and then told me to follow him outside.

It was a really nice day today, sunny and hot, but not too sunny and hot. We sat on the green grass in his garden and he poured us both some lemonade.

"Cheers!" He said raising his glass. I tapped it with mine.

"Cheers! Haha. So what did you want to show me?" I asked before taking a sip.

"This. I hope you like it." He started to strum some chords on his guitar and immediately I recognised the song. It was one of my all time favourites.

Yellow, by Coldplay.

Then he started to sing. His voice is indescribable. It made the hairs on my arms stick up. It fitted the song so well. He played the guitar like it was part of him and sang the words so sweetly with so much of emotion.

No one had ever, ever sung for me.

This was perfect.

"Your skin,

Oh yeah your skin and bones,

Turn into

Something beautiful,

You know,

You know I love you so," he looked up to me at this point, before singing the last line of the chorus and locked onto my gaze.

"You know I love you so."

The same warm feeling I got when bowling earlier returned embracing my whole body.

I wanted that song to never finish, James sang it so perfectly I was speechless.

He let the finishing chord on his guitar ring out before muting the strings, and then looked up at me, his big eyes shinning green.

"James," I almost whispered. "Oh my goodness, that was beautiful," he blushed. "You are so talented."

"You liked it?" He questioned with a a smile.

"Is that even a question, I fucking loved it!" He threw his head back and laughed, causing me to laugh along with him.

"I was hoping you would. Can you play?" He said to me while taking his guitar strap off from around him.

"Oh yeah yeah totally I'm a professional." I said sarcastically.

"Great! Show me what you've got!"

"I was kidding! I can't play to save my life." He raised his eyebrows up an down at me.

"Awh well we'll see about that." He stood up and sat back down but right by my side so our shoulders were against each other. He put the guitar strap over my shoulder and rested the guitar in my lap in playing position.

"I'll play the chords up here on the neck, while you strum them, okay?"

"Okay." I replied getting ready to embarrass myself. But it was much easier than I thought, with James's guidance I could now strum, not play, but strum a guitar.

"We are just great, wanna join my band?" He teased.

"I would, but I think we would just make the others look really bad you know, because of how talented we are." He laughed at my reply and agreed.

James was still sitting right by my side. He was so close too me, I didn't want him to move, I liked it, it felt right. He turned his face to me to find me looking at him already, and tucked a loose piece of my hair behind my ear. Our faces were so close now. His warm hand was resting on my neck from when he put my hair behind my ear, and his thumb was gently smoothing back and forth over my cheek. Slowly he pulled me in closer to him, until our lips were almost touching.

And then his phone rang.

An annoyed sigh came from James as he pulled away from me. He took his phone out from his pocket and answered it. It was someone called Tristan.

"Err sorry about that." He said to me after finishing his call and sat back down, but across from me this time. My heart sunk a little. I liked the closeness that we had earlier...

"That's alright." I smiled.

"That was Tristan, he's the drummer in my band. You'll definitely have to meet him soon, I think you'll like him."

"Just say when! I'd love to!" I replied causing a smile to pull on the corners of James' mouth.

For the rest of the day, James played me songs on his guitar in the garden, while I either sang along or took pictures of him doing so. At half seven, he drove me home.

The car journey was so silent. All I was thinking about was of was earlier, before James' phone rang. If that hadn't of happened, then, maybe.... Maybe we would have kissed. I mean that's where it was leading to. I know I shouldn't be doing this, my dad would kill me. He has never been stricter about anything before, and he's extremely strict about, well, everything to be honest. I dread to think of what he would do.. And the fact that James is musical just makes everything thy little bit worse. But I've never felt this way about someone before. Never. I feel so safe, and secure around him. However, I don't need to worry about that. Nothing has happened between us, we aren't dating or anything. This is silly, he probably doesn't even like me that much. I wouldn't blame him, I've lived in over 20 houses, have controlling parents and only have one proper friend. Wow.. Yeah I'm totally irresistible...

We pulled up into graces drive and I thanked him for another amazing day. I hopped out of the car and entered the house, waving him goodbye from the window. I already missed him. Is that normal?
